Hangin in Schladming. Chill little ski town, but without snow theres a ton of awesome hiking and big rivers. Been pretty busy testing out everyones gear to make sure it works and making sure everyone can carry a pack alright. Everyone,s forgotten something. Some people didnt even come with sleeping bags. Ive needed to get a bunch of waterproof stuff, as the "water resistant" stuff gets soaked in ten minutes of walking in rain. The outdoor store in town must make half its income off of us.
Altogather theres 37 students, but we split into groups of about 8-10 people for the trekking. Crazy wide variety of people. A lot of canadians and germans. One dude from romania. Its been raining on and off ever since I got here, but when its not its pretty nice. The internet is sketchy and just started really working today. Hopefully it keeps up. These keyboards are really funky so if it reads badly its all its faült....really.
The homebase is a pretty nice kinda lodge type deal, and its right in town. We havnt gone on any multiday hikes yet, but Im hoping to soon. Im still feeling a little jet lag surprisingly, but i just try to get as tired as possible so I can get to sleep right away. Not hard to do here. Theres a ton of awesome running trails and they have a weight room. I even met a dude who looked like arnold schwartzeneggers lil bro the other day. gotta peace. hoping the interent will stay alive.
