Next stop on the world tour, Granada in Nicaragua. After 27 hours of buses & a filthy expensive hotel full of massive ants for 5 hours, we landed in Granada. We were never so happy to get cleaned up & get out of jeans. Night buses are always freezing, so when you arrive somewhere hot & walk out of the bus wearing jeans, 2 pairs of socks, a fleece & 2 coats, one doesn’t be long sweating. Really nice town but full of little kids begging. They are well looked after but they do it so they can get sweets & junk food which families never buy.

We did a tour of the lake with a local man, who was really friendly & kept yapping away to us in Spanish. If only he knew we didn’t understand a word he said. He brought us to Fortress island & monkey island. Then he picked a weird but beautiful flower off a tree for Roma. There was a nice Irish bar in Granada, the owner been from swords, full of chat. But he did make a damn good Irish stew. After a few days here, it was time to move on again. (I now know how travellers in Ireland feel) No taxis were around so ended up getting a horse drawn carriage to the bus terminal.
