I’m back in El Castillo, sitting in a hammock on the balcony of the charming Casa de Huésped Chinandegano, with the rapids that almost defeated a young Nelson in 1780 off to my right. I feel a little guilty for not going back to the pretty Nena Lodge that did me so well last weekend, but this place is right on the river, the French-Argentinean couple I’ve run into from time to time this week...

Love your descriptions of the rain forest, Elizabeth. I can just hear the cacophany of the howler monkeys; such funny creatures! What luck that you got to see 2 types of frogs. Awesome! And it looks like you saw some of the lovely butterflies in the tropics. I hope you get to see even more. While I envy your experience, I must say I don't miss the humidity of the tropics. I'm impressed you're tolerating it so well. :) XX Rhonda
