Aaahhh... relax!!!
Finally relaxing with a book in the hammock over at the cays Now I've been here in Utila for some time. Maybe 2 weeks? Time seems to fly away and I live day by day. After a very long 2 day bus trip straight from Costa Rica, I arrived here in Utila. I went straight to look around for dive shops but I couldn't make up my mind as all of them offered specific things, such as assisting on the whale shark boat or leading the dolphin tours. In the end there were too many good choices and I just needed a relax! So I went out to the Cays, where one dive shop has its hostel. It was great to get away and chill there for a few days, with no cars or motorbikes, and no parties or loud reaggeton. Very tranquilo!! I came back to Utila to start the dive course and finally chose to start with Gunter's dive centre. It's a small and very chilled out place at the end of the main street, away from the busy centre. On a small island like this some people seem to get very lazy and bored, so what they do on a saturday night is to race up and down the main
street.. Guess if I was surprised after hearing how amazing and laid back this place is... It's not as chilled out as I thought it would be, but still I like island life and decided to start my dive master here. I spend most of the time here at the dive school, either diving, studing for exams or helping out in the office. It's good fun, and I've met lots of great people. There was also a carneval for a few days, with the crowning of Miss Utila. I think there were 27 Miss Utilas up there on the stage in the end - Miss Utila, Miss Utila Infantil, Miss Utila Juvenil, Miss Cayos, Miss Honduras, and all from both this year and last year. All girls on the island must have been a Miss Utila by now, there are not that many people living here.. Once in a while there's a beach party or a BBQ on the dock.. No way you'll get bored here! I'm renting a house, sharing with a guy who's an instructor. It's kind of cool to have a house to live in for a change, pretty nice!! My friends from back home, Vanja and
Terje, came to Central America for a while, and came over here diving with me! It was nice to meet some friends from before for a change! Sun is shining here every day, and every day is a good diving day... So I'm happy here and enjoy life heaps!!

Easy life
Otroligt vad du får uppleva och lära. Tipsar dig om att se Tikal i norra Guatemala om du får tid (du är ju ganska nära). Lite mänsklig kultur och historia vid sidan av djur- och växtriket.
