Swimming at Finca Tatin
I have spent the last two nights in the beautiful rainforest near livingston on Rio Dulce Guatamala. We stayed in a beautiful little cabin at Finca Tatin. The Hostel is owned by a lovely family of a father and three kids. The youngest boy taught me how to play Yo-Gu-Oh. We arrived by boat from Rio Dulce on the 20th and took the tour guide (the family dog) on a tour through the rainforest. There is an American volunteer mission very near the hostel that helps the poor people in the forest. We walked to the river and saw 20-30 men washinging there clothes and bathing in the river. Then we walked about the mission, which was closed and head back to do some swimming. We swam around the dock and jumped from the rope that hung from the tree. We ate with the family and our two great friends from Spain. The next day our Spanish friends joined us on a breath-taking guided kayak tour of the rivers. We kayaked in a manatee reserve, but didn't see any manatee because they are very shy. Each night it rained and stormed sooo much I was looking for the ark. We

were very sad to leave the secluded jungle home, but the boat ride at 6:00 this morning was amazing. A manatee jumped out of the water near our boat. That is a VERY rare sight! Then we hopped on a pretty pimp bus (lazyboy style seating and lunch) and headed to Guatamala City then Antigua were we find ourselves in yet another rain storm. I get a little homesick every time we leave a wonderful place like that, but such is life of a traveler.
