I found Las Galeras on the Samana Peninsula of the Dominican Republic to be a great location to land for a week and de-stress during our spring break. Wow! What a find...
no tourists and very beautiful beaches...not to mention the whales about to sink your boat!

We have not made it to the Dominica Republic yet.
We've been to several Caribbean islands. We will need to move this one up on our list. The water looks amazing and glad you got to chase the whales. Very cool.

Yeah, I was very pleased and would recommend a place like Las Galeras over the all-inclusive resorts. Most people I talked to who did that weren't so impressed. Yeah, the water alone is reason to go - hope you get there soon!
