Gag found a friend.. hello Mambo
The Domincan was beautiful and vibrant.. I was shocked by the culture, the people, the food and how amazing the locals were! I went with a boyfriend and was expecting to be locked up in our hotel never to be let out again untill 2 weeks later, but I discovered much much more and as it happend spent hardly any time in the Hotel!

We landed in Puerto Plata we were greated by dancers and fruit and had are photgraphs taken ... A nice touch you would say!! The drive to the hotel was only 20 minutes away and it was so nice to see all the locals on scooters and motor cycles carrying water on there head along with there 3 kids in uniform on the back of there 2 seater... dont get me wrong they were very much smiling and waving!

The hotel was lovely ( Creative Mexicana ) The rooms werent great but who cares what the rooms looks like you go away to get out of the room not be in it!! The veiws were fab 3 jacuzzi whirl pools built into the reef . ow when a wave hit the side and came over

The locals were great, the music was boss!! we rocked in latino's
your head it was like a breath of fresh air.. and then when the sun set and your wrinkled glowing body dried and went cold... heaven!! Sooo we wanted to get out there and at first was scared of even walking out the hotel to book a trip but we took the plunge and stepping across into the unkown was sooo good!!

We ventured out and walked to Sosua bay, with locals asking you to buy there creative , detailed paintings , the smell of rum and tobacco in the air, the sun beating on your chest and arms, the sound of motorbikes slowly going past... and the pleasantly good dominican music pounding out in a near bar or local amentity.. it was nice! Sosua Bay is a must see We walked down most days with little local bars all along the beach, White sands, crystal clear waters inwhich theres a reef in swimming reach!!! ( always bring a banana to feed the fish ) and something that touched mine and Gary's heart was the local festival they have on a sunday were all the local children and parents sing and dance around ... it made me cry.. how

Sanctuary.. Amazing
can these people with nothing smile like they have everything!!! They had happiness and they danced like they ment it and everyone could get involved!

Cabarette - We traveled to Cabarette by taxi first and it cost a tenner there and back!! I guess we hadnt learned how to hagle at that point! ha However we went again and caught a local bus which the locals use also cost about 50p they fit you in with about 10 other people who have chickens sat on there knee... and babies under there arm its hilirous!! Well worth the experience and it werent scary atall! It amzen how many people you can fit into a 6 seater hahaha! Carbarette had a chilled out atmosphere but was very modern and vibrant.. The beach is a must for Kite surfing, canooing ect as its very windy and goes for miles and miles ... Its a lovely walk! we even picked up a dog who followed us and joined us for lunch we later names mambo!! There's plenty of shops inwhich you can buy everything you need from jewlerry to clothes to rum... My fav! We only made it in the day but I can pretty much guarentee it would be well worth the visit in the night! Ill be going back!

The water Falls - Should be a wonder of the world you go intot he rainforest past were jurrasic park was made and are able to climb up 7 waterfalls and slide back down them and jump from them with help from the locals who crawl up the walls like they can walk on water... The colours are breathetaking and the experience is out of this world i believe there is 27 waterfalls but its harder to get up the rest so tourists can only do the 7!!! honestly i never had a water camara so couldnt capture how breathe taking it was but its a must see

Paradise Island -- By speed boat you are taken to an island with an amzing reef, crystal clear waters , the most beautiful shells and rocks with colours you have never seen inpatterned on them. This is all protected and you cant take anything from the island dont get me wrong i wanted to!! ha Your fed fresh pineapple all day and can drink rum free of charge intill your hearts content

This is were Jurrasic park was shot!
which me and gag did... It was pure paradise so to speak and the reef is shallow but nice. We stopped off for lunch which was a buffet again nice and met some nice people on this journey! You see so many hidden gems and private beaches along the way and its worth while getting a car and going sight seeing for a few days im deffintly doing this again!

All n all its 10 out of 10 the boat trips are out of this world loads of entertainment and chance to relax..... they stop atleast twice for you to do some snorkling and have a little swim. One of the best Holidays Ive been on its deffintly on my list to go back only this time i will be travelling across puerto plata now i know its a friendly place!
