Wilson Easter was a huge celebration in Costa Rica. Each church/small town celebrated with multiple parades. The streets were lined with decorations and palm trees were painted in the streets. We have been attending the International Baptist Church located in Guachapelin (very close to Blue Valley School). We went to this church for the sunrise service. After the sunrise service the church served breakfast and the Easter egg hunt was shortly afterwards. The egg hunt was scheduled for 9:30am and the children were starting to get anxious waiting for exactly 9:30am. The preacher gathered them in a circle and started singing “We are going on a bear hunt”. He definitely knows how to entertain children. He kept them entertained for about 30 minutes. Plastic eggs are hard to come by in Costa Rica. So, after the children found the plastic eggs they were encouraged to dump the candy out and turn in the plastic eggs. The incentive to turn the eggs in was another goody bag full of candy
