Well, it's probably time that we update you all so you know what you're missing! Our first night in San Jose was difficult. Nobody spoke english! Big surprise tho, right? It finally hit us that we were here alone...and we can do whatever we want! SO, we ate from the street vendors and drank the water (and cerveca) and even tried fresh squeezed limon juice (tastes like oranges!). The next morning we hopped a bus to Puntarenas (aka the butthole of costa rica...yeah...) and hitched a ferry to Paquera. We met this couple from Sweden who were travelling to Montezuma also, so we caught a cab with a one-legged driver to the city. Fastest drive ever, AND we got a minus-one-leg discount!! He was great, he slammed on the breaks s we could see all the monkeys. Oh yeah, and we talked about Bush with the swedes, what do you think THEY said about him? Haha, oh well, we left for a reason.
Now we're in Montezma, and loving every second! The beaches are muy bonitas. The food is amazing! We've been having casados which are like an entire meal for a few bucks and include rice beans some meat (mahi mahi casados, mmmm mmmm good) and veggies. They are HUGE!! And we've been having fresh squeezed orange, lemon, pineapple, and passion fruit juice every morning. Our hotel is right on the beach and we have an amazing view. Only $25 per night, and it even has a private bathroom and fan! We'll add more pics later, this computer is really slow. We've taken a LOT tho! The bugs aren't bad at all, and we're getting used to the humidity. We both got a little burned and have also seen some great thunder and lightening storms. Love you all!! Don't worry about us, we're doing amazing!! Oh yeah, and we met this couple from nor cal and have been hanging out with them here. Very hippy. We all hiked to a waterfall yesterday (chad loved it, carrie thought she just might die..) so we had beer as a reward when we were done. Well, i suppose it should say beerS. Then we went to this amazing restaurant and all just relaxed. Well, we're off to meet our new friends at the beach, so talk to you all lata!

careful shmareful
haha, just kidding. we´re being really safe. the waterfall was a bit of an adventure for me, and some local tico had to help me cross the river because i made it halfway and just about pissed myself i was so scared! and lonely planet called it a ¨leisurely 20 min hike.¨ They should mention that´s only during dry season when it hasn´t rained. Seriously though, we have been super careful, not gotten burned or bitten very bad at all, and haven´t even had the runs or felt sick! we´ve even started eating vegetarian (with the exception of the AMAZING seafood!!) Love you guys so so much! I´ll try to give you a call tomorrow if i can. We´re heading to Samara for school. XOXO
