Madeira 6th January Arriving into Funchal on a warm winter, but their spring morning, it was though we hadn't been away. This was our final stop coming home in 2016.The island is noted for its scenic splendours and Madeira wine. After a shuttle into the town centre, the first thing to notice was that Christmas is still going on. The municipal gardens were still decked with all the lights, father Xmas and his reindeer and sleigh. We were leaving before dark so we weren't able to see it all lit up. The P & O ship Ventura berthed behind us and they were staying until late evening so they would see all the harbour lit up with the lights.Rather than take the tours or the hop on hop off buses which we did on our last visit, we walked the gardens which while not that colourful were being prepared for their Spring show which is world famous. The Parque de Santa Catarina and the Jardins da Quinta da Vigia give a great panorama of the city of Funchal and its harbour. Sorry this late we arrived Barbados late last night after a mercy dash for an injured passenger Al & Lin
