Wow! Beautiful pictures. I love the Gargoyle overlooking the city, and the one of you two in front of the Eiffel Tower. JEALOUS! Someday I want to go and see all the art work. One thing I would also like to see is Monet's garden. Looks like you had a great time in France. Love, Leslie
Germans really know how to have fun! I loved reading this entry! I have a group of German friends that I hang out with here in Mundelein. They really are the party people. We go to the German Mardi Gras in the Spring, and they party into the wee hours of the night, with the traditional costumes, the beer, the songs, and the "prost". It look like you guys had a great time. Would love to see the river, canoe pictures too! Wow! What a great experience. It is always better when you can see it authentically through the eyes of someone local. Good times!
Sounds like the Amazing Race. This leg of the jouney sounds like the Amazing Race. Sleeping on a bench in the train station...yipes! What did you do in Greece?
With all the exercising, we need to see a picture of Ryan on the pull up bars! This sounds like a great leg of the trip. Do you have any pictures from Lavagna you could post? Leslie
Been thinking about you guys and wondering where in the world you are. Great pictures. Looks like fun. Are you tired of traveling? I don't think I would ever tire of it. Stay safe, and happy travels! Love, Leslie

Points -5 points for a minor error in French history: the royal family vacated Versailles 3 years before the king was beheaded, and during that time they lived in Paris, escaped, were captured, etc.
+10 points for the Dumb and Dumber quote
+100 points for the baguette karate

Roles Reversed Love reading the blogs man, sounds like a great trip thus far. I'm super happy that you enjoyed Bavaria and felt like you really experienced. I know exactly what you are saying that last paragraph, so true. Sounds like it was an excellent time. Keep em coming!
stones vs sand I've been along the french riviera and it seems to vary somewhat randomly from stones to sand. Nice had all stone beaches and i didn't like it one bit! Cannes and others had beautiful sand beaches... I'd try to find out in advance as the Europeans don't seem to mind the stones for some reason.
Happy travels- sounds amazing.
Howdy, this is Ryan and Claire's travel blog. We are heading to Europe first and fly into Madrid on 8/17/09. After two months of whatever that entails, we'll be heading to Central America (after a quick nod to a lanky fellow in Miami) and arrive in Guatemala on 10/17/09. After one month of busing down Central America, we'll be flying into Colombia and after another month, we should be flying home from Argentina around 12/20/09. If you've been counting (or just noted the start and end dates), that's 4 months abroad, in the middle of Claire's young career and before Ryan has even started his... full info
