For those of you on this list who haven’t heard, I just got back from a month long trip to India. The first 2.5 weeks I was with an organized tour with the Sierra Club, a conservation/environmental organization. I’ve wanted to go on one of their trips for a while, but had no idea that I wanted to go to India until I read the brochure for the trip. India rivals Africa for wildlife viewing. India has over 1 billion of the 6 billion people on earth packed into a country one third the size of the US. If current population trends continue, by about the year 2030 India will overtake China as the most populated country in the world.
