I have travelled extensively over the years but nearly always by flying. i am not a crazy enviorementalist just someone who is sick of not enjoying the journey and has decided to start enjoying how i get there as much as i enjoy being there. This particular journey will probably be my longest so i intend to enjoy it and share it not only with ppl i meet along the way but with anyone who enjoys reading other ppls journeys. My initial plans are to travel from my home in Blackpool England overland to New Zealand stopping off wherever takes my fancy along the way. I dont know how far i'l get but i will keep going until the money runs out so not only will i be staying in budget hotels and hostels i will be finding the most economical way of getting from one place to the next. With budget at the forefront of my mind i have spent countless hours no days researching the cheapest way of travelling. A good example of this would be my very first bus i booked a bus to London from Preston for only £2 i have booked 2 dates because i am unsure if all my visas will arrive in time for the 1st date and if not i only lose £1. From London i have booked a bus Eurolines to Warsaw Poland for only £90. so in theory from Blackpool to Warsaw is only costing £92.00. Officialy my trip starts the 17-12-08 so i will start blogging shortly after that.
After many changes in plan due to family bereavement i eventually started my trip in March 09 and because of work/home/ financial constraints it was much shorter than expected around 17 weeks. Unfortunately it wasn't all overland due to the time restrictions i flew from London to Bangkok but thats where the journey really began.
