so much wildlife You really saw much more wildlife than you had on your land trips before the cruise, so I guess, even though you were on the Old Flamingo, you're glad you did it, yes? Great photos, and how exciting to see a big shark!
Cruise or not? We are really happy we did a cruise as we were able to see more islands and in a relatively short length of time. The cruise was much more full on than I expected, I was definitely ready for a rest by the end. If you are looking at cruises bear in mind that an advertised 8 day cruise is really only 6.5. You lose half a day at the beginning and are off the ship by 8am on the last day. I loved the time we had on the boat but also really enjoyed our time just being on the islands. I would definitely recommend a few extra days before or after any cruise.
So many adventures Great to hear that there are so many things to see and do even without an expensive cruise, which is probably what I'll do. But I guess I'll have to save my judgement until I read your next blog on the cruise. Was it better?
good-by jangles What a fab museum near Chiclayo--I can hardly wait! And I so agree with you about the horns here in Peru--I think they are the worst in South America. Congratulations on being bloggers of the week. If you have 500 words and 10 photos, your blog will appear on the front page and everyone will know that Mancora has lovely, relaxing parts, not just the party scene (so happy to hear that).
Shorts at a glacier? What a fine couple of hikes you had there--wow, the famous Laguna 69 and a glacier--both looking gorgeous! However, I'm a bit worried if you two buffed out people were puffing on the trails--do I even stand a chance? Hopefully, they'll have a tour for slow-pokes. I can't believe what (little) Gary is wearing at the glacier--it looks as if he's ready for Trujillo already. See you there.
No World Cup news? I guess the Cup must have been over by the time you visited Lima--no more time outs for Gary. Love the fountains and the Casa de La Gastromonia though I think I'll stay downtown and visit Miraflores as a cultural oddity. Can't wait to see what treks you do in Huarez!
Fabulous tips! Wow, this is such a helpful blog! I also knew that I didn't want to pay $100, but hadn't heard of the Palca lines, this tour or the new hotel (I'd love to know its name). I really love this photo of a Nazca line which gives a great image of how big they are and how they were made--thanks!
Flying and killing the calves on stairs Wow--you two are so buffed out--walking up to Machu Picchu and doing the mountain. I'm totally impressed. I so agree with you about the steps. I'm about the height of an Incan, yet the stairs always seem to be for people much taller--I don't get it. I love your flying in the zip lines and how that wouldn't be allowed in our countries. That's one of the things that I love about traveling here in South America--being able to experience a wild thing or two. See you in Nazca--it's supposed to be a gorgeous ride to the coast.
Fab blogs! I love your adventures--a great combination of wild adventure and culture! So many of your hikes--Colca Canyon, Isla del Sol, the Cross mirador in Copacabana--you mention as if they were a stroll in the park, while other bloggers, myself included, exclaim about having accomplished them. I love that you two are so young and buff. I've been living in Arequipa for several months--too bad I didn't discover you until you'd left. Enjoy my beloved Cusco, and happy travels!
What an amazing place Hey RobinGary, looks like you are having the most amazing time down there. The scenery looks just fantastic - almost like another world.
Great start!! Hey guys, love this blog Robyn! Thanks for doing it for all of us following your travels. I would love to see Sarah's face if she ever saw an armadillo. I have never seen one but think they are adorable. It's cool to see your photos - all those courses have laid off, they are stunning. Miss you and looking forward to our next Skype catch up, Katy x

Easy Riders Hi there, like your blog. I'll be heading to vietnam on the 15th october and on my way through the country plan on having a couple of days with the Easy Riders. Is it easy to get in touch with them as I've heard there are now copy cat groups and I've already found 2 different websites???? Any advice on getting hold of them?
what a trip! So jealous - now I really wish I was spending more time in Asia before I head to Europe. You guys have fitted in so much - such a good mix of history, adventure and relaxing. And excellent blogging! See you soon x
I'm so jealous!! You guys have organised a fantastic trip, you should be in the business! But come home Gary, I need to beat you at squash! And Adeely says come home Robyn 'cos she just misses you :-(
Standing in all three at once No you can't be in all countries at the same time as the border is the river. We did a river cruise so I guess at some point we probably were in all three maybe???
Sounds like fun! Hey travellers - sounds like you guys are having an awesome time. Glad I'm not the only one that has issues with directions :-) The Golden Triangle must have been pretty cool to visit - do they let you stand so you are kind of in all three countries at once? And I could definitely do with a foot massage. Take care, Katy xox
Congratulations Just read your blog - I am impressed all over again with this! I thought you guys were machines for doing the Wellington half in the horrible conditions we turned on. Very inspirational :-)
