Birthday greetings and udon noodles hey alex,
just a quick comment to wish you a very happy birthday. i hope that the sake was suitable. Glad to hear you are loving Japan, it was definately been one of the highlights on our trip. And on the food subject: my all time fav japanese food is udon soup noodles with tempura shrimp. We've been looking out for it ever since.
Take care, have fun and keep safe xxxxx
Temples I get the distinct Impression that you're all templed out!? Can't understand why!? Hehe! Try visiting a few more bars inbetween, I find that helps with most things!!
Take Care
Be safe
and Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Alex, happy birthday to you.
Lots of love
Mum and Dad.
PS we're just going out to a nice restaurant to celebrate but its not your birthday here yet
Birthday boy Are you doing anything special for your birthday tomorrow? I know you treated yourself to the cookery course but that was yesterday. We may have to open a bottle of Sake up at the village hall in Horndon to celebrate without you. Legacy are playing there. Lots of love...mumsy
Capsule hotel By the looks of it we could get about a dozen of those capsule things in your bedroom at home. We could then take on lots of lodgers. Mum said don't forget to wiggle your toes as you could get DVT in one of thoes coffins
what colour is envy HI Alex Its taken me some time ti get ny head around blogging. If you don't get this then I have prseed something else incorrectly. Sounds like fun being had. What a great experience. James was in Korea last week and is in China this. Back home on Monday 6th march. I like my children on english terra ferma (the more firmer the less terror) Ha ha. Keep well. Love from Lorna
Going alone So how do you think mum will take it when tell her that you said I had to go alone on our planned tour ? Careful about accepting gifts from small Japanese you know what they say about no such thing as a frtee meal.
Miss your cooking really enjoying your travelblog. But we always get hungry reading it, I think Dad wishes you were home cooking your great meals becuse I have reverted to salads. Keep writing love mum
You're making my mouth water. I have just come home from work to a frozen pie in the oven and the suggestion that we have some spaghetti hoops with it. Ugh! Is it possible to send food parcels?
Geisha Yay you've seen a Geisha girl!! I can't believe you've been there only 4 days and already you've seen so much more than i had a chance to. I hope you've been using you phrasebook but not the sections we were looking at!!
the sites Stop bloody writing on here and stay away from computer cafe's! your supposed to be culturing yourself ;) Yes, i did read the musical stairs - reminds of the film BIG or the simpsons.
From those you left behind You left behind a few hangovers going by the two men that woke up in my household the next morning. Shame some of us had to go to work! Happy travelling.
Japan sounds...exciting sounds like you are having a great time already. I on the other hand only have your mum as my guitaring partner and she's refusing to play. I'll have to get together with the Brown boys and James. He's an honourary Brown boy till you get back. Soon teach him how to drink and sing Scottish folk songs. That'll let mum off the hook
Luv Dad xx
Toe wiggling Dear Alex...remember for future reference when you manage to disentangle your legs during your flights wiggle your toes to avoid DVT. Always listen to your mum. Love mum xxx
Heathrow here we come Dropped Alex off at the airport at about 09:30. Plenty of snow and traffic but arrived in time. Hopefully the trip to Japan will be easier. Good luck Alex.
Im Alex. 22 and counting, just about to embark on 5 months of travelling before starting my first proper post graduation job. Im into my adventure sports - climbing, biking, skiing, diving, sailing, kayaking but this trip is probably going to be more about culture than sport... although I could be swayed! I love cooking (and eating!) and playing the guitar, seeing live music, and drinking alcohol.... full info
