Our first encounter with motion sickness was flying over the Nazca lines in a tiny aeroplane. Luckily, neither of us was actually sick, although I managed to miss half the lines preventing this! They´re on an epic scale, and the people who decided to draw them did a pretty good job considering they didn´t have an aeroplane to see how they actually looked! From Nazca, we went straight to Chivay, over a pass of 4800 m, slightly stupid, and consequently we´ve both felt the altitude. Going to stock up on the old coca leaves before we get to Cusco and La Paz so that we´ll be acclimatised! Soo it´s truly started! We´ve rolled down a Peruvian highway, had some Pisco sours, seen some penguins and bumped across the desert in a sand buggy! Now i´m supposed to tell you how we were squeezed into the corner of a bus full of drug barons, fought of ten of them to reclaim our bags and then walked 20 miles across a desert until we found the lagoon we´re now in. Equally, the sours should of given us food poisoning, the penguins turned out to be partial to man flesh and the buggy have disintegrated whilst the driver tried to jump over his mate´s car. Well, the bags are packed, the passports have been photocopied and the currency has arrived! All that remains is to get ourselves down to London and do an all-nighter in Heathrow Airport.
