Loved the first part, can't wait to hear the next chapter of your travels. Hope you have had a chance to catch up on some sleep before jumping into the fray!! Love, Nana
Ha ha! I am going to enjoy these blog entries so very much!! My only concern is that I understand that words in Chinese, being a tonal language, can have different meanings depending on the way you "sing" them...hope your shay-shay wasn't something obscene :)
August 22 Dearest Sarah, I am so proud of your adventurous spirit. You are on your way to something and somewhere not everyone gets the chance to experience - and also bringing the gift of your generous spirit and teaching skills to that place. Enjoy it all, warts and all, knowing that we back here are loving you and cheering you on. Keep this blog humming!! Much love to you, Nana
"You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you'll be swept off to." (In keeping with the Middle Earth theme...) I miss you already.
I'm incredibly excited for you and your endeavor. I'll definitely be staying up to speed. I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to get together with you before you left Nashville but it doesn't mean I love you any less, haha. I want to be one of the first beers you share with someone back in the states.
The adventure continues Well here you go...the grand scale of your adventures seems to grow exponentially with each departure. And I've gone thru the 7 stages of parental hand-wringing and finally arrived at the place where I'm excited and happy for you. Somehow I find comfort in the words of your visa opponent. So....go forth and do the good for the peoples.
A record of my adventures and misadventures as an English teacher in Tajikistan--a land so unknown to me and mine that we've tried to tether it to something familiar with the nickname "The Persian Colorado." You know, on account of the mountains. And the Persians.
