The Eiffel Tower- the image that comes to mind when we all think of Paris. It's big and tall, and made of thousands of tons of steel. Driving on the outskirts of Paris, I was beyond excited when I saw the structure towering over all of the other buildings in the distance. When I finally had the chance to get close to it, I was shocked. It's way bigger than I had ever pictured, and completely crowded. There's no way a couple could take a romantic picture under there without having a billion heads in the way. If you pay big bucks, you can climb to the top of the tower. Ahh, Paris. The city of romance. Of berets, croissants, and expensive bottled water. And, of course, the Eiffel Tower, also known in French as "la Tour Eiffel". I can honestly say that Paris really is all that it's cracked up to be. It's simply breathtaking. The way that the Seine River flows through the city with all of the old buildings on either side. And the petit cafes spread throughout. Not to mention the French accents that you just can't get away from, but who would want to anyway? It's a beautiful language. I had the privilege to visit many of Paris' classic tourist sites: Le Louvre, la Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame, la Bastille, l'Opera de Paris and the Arc de Triomphe, none of which disappointed me.
