On Sunday 31 May we left Albany for our trek north to Exmouth with a few stops on the way. The first leg of our journey was Cervantes which was a distance of 612 Kms. we stopped on the way for lunch at Mc Donald's to avail ourselves of the free internet and download some directions. Just outside Cervantes are the Pinnacles - a strange collection of limestone formations of up to 4m which rise up out of the sand dunes in Nambung National Park. They're scattered across the desert in their thousands, creating alien-like landscape. Some finish in a jagged point, while others have rounded domes, resembling tombstones.
