Pollution I love the comments on the conditions in India. I've always felt that it is good for people from America to see what the living and environmental "conditions" are around the world. Your comment on the raw sewage and the river took me back to the time I lived in the Philipines next to "shit river". They always said there was a hundred diseases to kill you in that river. Thanks for taking the time to provide all of us with that perspective and for reminding us how good we have it.

You give a great feel for what life must be like for you. Just these little glimses of your corner of India speak volumes. Keep it up!

namaste goa yes, I feel like I'm there with you. The photos and descriptions are excellent. It's the perfect antidote to the winter routine. All of your new personal connections in India are a blessing. Can you see anything special in the night sky? If you could photograph that, I would be instantly transported. or a photo of chapati and dhal would be very satisfying, with chapati walla for extra credit. rafa
fuck yeah! You two are having the power tour. We're ready to jump on a plane and join you both. It's great to read about your experiences so soon after having been in India for the first time ourselves. It all sounds so similar and different at the same time. Go check out the national parks around Bangalore. They are supposed to be amazing!
PS. We're finally on vacation too for the next 3 weeks. Reentry's been a bitch and we finally get to decompress after 5 months of first world culture shock.
Love, d+m

Are you going to Tiruvannamalai? I love travelling with you via the Blog. XOXOX Marilyn
Intriguing, addictive! I admit it; I've become a travelblog junkie! I'm so far beyond just run-of-the-mill envy, devouring every word and clicking on all the photos to enlarge them and become part of them as much as possible. Goa looks like the same place where one of the "Bourne Identity" movies was partly filmed...is that right? I find myself hoping also that you guys have a camcorder, or can get one. On with the adventure! Merry Christmas!

It doesn't look like Paris What a switch from Paris. I'm glad you have a "Guardian Angel" to guide you through the maze. It looks and sounds overwhelming. Have a wonderful holiday over there. I'll be in Ashland soon. I can hardly wait. Love you, Carole
From baguettes and brie to... You did an amazing job of describing the utterly indescribable paradox that is India, right down to the mind-boggling way that chaos seems to glue the whole thing together! It sounds like venturing out and actually finding your way back is a feat in itself! Can't wait for the next installment.
