THE BEACH!! Molly, THE BEACH!! What did Lenin think of the ocean and the beach???? What was his reaction to all of those seashells washing up onto the sand??? I remember shots you got of the guys in the water playing, but, the beach is so different from that. Did Lenin like it? What did he think of all of that BLACK sand?? It's so fun for ME to think of you guys on the same beach, up near Leon, that we all shared when we were 4 Baades in Nicaragua together. Awwww........ (-: Love you! Both!
Nice (short), but... Nice (short), but very nice selection, Molly. Gosh, how DOES one select just a few pictures or statements about YEARS (and years VERY different from what you once knew and what all of your acquaintances have ever known) ?? Yours, anyway, would be very hard to do (as in, MINE would be a picture of Buddy, a family picture, a Postal picture, and a nice Wal-Mart shot! Ha!). Seriously, Molly, I am so very very proud of the lady that you've grown to be. Love you.
Oracles I don't know much (actually none) about oracles but I do believe in the power of prayer and the peace that comes with my faith in God and His love for me. I will keep you and your new family in my prayers, keep sweeping the demons from under the bed and hang in there. Hope to see you when you get home.
The picture above... The picture above with Ton~o and his apprentices,...........so, is he back home (next door) with Leo and Kriste (and etc.) now?? Hoping so.
oh! no! Molly, I am going to phone you now and see if you have a "minute" to talk. After a short cry.
Won't the PC invite you to their Thanksgiving dinner?????? (tsk tsk)
OH, NO..... Our first rain in......I don't know,.......like.....years, maybe?? Ha! Have to shut down for now!!! Love the pics. Loved the email!! Love you, too. Mom xo
I MADE IT!!! YAY MOLLY!!!! Not only did I make it through, but your Dad and I BOTH made it through. And,...WE THOROUGHLY enjoyed every word.
Ha! Well, like they say, "different strokes...", huh? It will be very interesting when you and your hubby, Lenin, get up here to Missouri in January! (ahem! There's also the one about "when in Rome,...", but there will certainly be some mixing up happening! But, there always is: Steve was raised in the city and I way out in the country. We're STILL working on finding the 'perfect mix'! That is just called LIFE. Molly, thank you for this very interesting blog entry. Maybe you don't hear it often enough anymore, but I KNOW that you still have many fond followers!
We love you, and, whatever makes you happy makes us happy! How could we be anything other!!? XO
when you get back Molly,
When you guys arrive, if you want I'll introduce you to my friends in the Mexican community here. also, whenever you guys like we can also get together and have an evening of puro español y comida mexicana/nicaraguense/salvadoreña. I'm sure you already know this, but the Lake is a pretty backwards place in regards to multiculturalism.
HAPPY 28th BIRTHDAY, MOLLY!!!!! Most days,...neither can I! Time is like that,...and we're made to 'see' it that way, I guess! Some days, it's like I can just FEEL you, SMELL you, HEAR you like you were right here in my arms as a newborn; other days, it almost seems like that was in another lifetime somewhere. I can picture you at every age....each and every single one!! And, know what?? Each and every one has been even better than the last!! I'm sometimes just sad that, as life goes, I have missed seeing you go through the STAGES of your ages!! BUT,....you've always been so very good at communicating and keeping us up-to-date on what you thought we SHOULD know!! Ha! Now, 28 years old and married; I was 28 when I had you, my Molly. Hope your 28th year is every bit as perfect as mine was!! Love you!
Miss you, but not the lluvia. Rainy season! Can't believe you are almost done with your service girlie! That is loco. I am loving that you are still faithfully updating us all with your blog posts and HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I do believe electricidad was the best birthday gift a girl could ask for en Septiembre no? Que suete que tu recibiras pollo frito tambien! Te extrano muchisimo chica y ojala que pueda visitarme con tu NUEVO ESPOSO!! en LA/ los EEUU muy prontisimo!
so, Molly, So, I really am hoping that these medical emergencies will serve as excusable reasons for your Peace Corps papers to be delayed. I know that you were stressing about Managua paperwork even BEFORE all of this trauma. Thinking about you and thanking you for being you, love, Mom
I am so glad..... According to our last phone convo, sounds like Vilma's final diagnosis is gall stones, right? Please let her know that your Dad and I are both doing fine without ours. We've both had our gall bladders removed. Hmmm, Molly, remembered after talking with you that Dad's was removed the summer that you and Arielle spent in Memphis. No wonder you didn't recall it! Mine was removed DIRECTLY before your graduation from Bryn Mawr. Weird, kinda, how DEEPLY you've been thrust into the depths of your 'new family's' medical crises, huh? Hope you're holding up OK,...holding everyone else up!! I hope that this gives you and your new mother-in-law, Vilma, some good times to get to know each other better.........closer, anyway, huh? I'd have to chat w/Jeri or Dr. J, but feel pretty sure in saying that gall stone surgery is probably easier to cure than would be any Hepatitis.
The comparison in medical care prices,....well, a good price list from up Here might help your communities understand a little more about how it is that we're not millionaires! Love You. Keep doing what you're doing; you do it well! Love you, Mom
Hey, Molly! It's Labor Day, September 6th (Bryn Mawr's yearly first day of classes, btw!). I have JUST NOW been going back through some of your previous posts and have JUST NOW found these pictures!
What a cool surprise! As you remember, I did not have my camera with us those first fun-filled days in Nica. So, thank you so much for capturing my memories with YOURS!! What good times!
Thank you! Thank you very much, mbaade, for you kind thoughts after the quake. It was down on South Island, and I live in North Island, so it was pretty weak by the time it got up here, but I do have friends in Lincoln/Christchurch that I'm still waiting to hear from. One of the buildings I lived in down there is on the news a lot as an example of the destruction. From what I hear, though, it sounds like my friends should be OK; they just probably don't have power yet to get in touch. I've got a housemate who's been saying we're due for a biggie ever since the quakes in Chile and Japan. He was right.
Thank you again.
ALSO: Congratulations so much on being a married lady now! Felidades y enhorabuena!
hey sharon! mamita is our grandmother. lenin´s mother doesn´t live in our community which means we have to go to wiwili to see his parents and siblings.
great to hear from you! once we get to the states (jan 2011) we will definitely stop by!
Question Hi Molly, Not being familiar with the language I was wondering if mamita is your husband's mother or grandmother? I know your are probably surprised to hear from me but I just received an update reminder from Sylvia so thought I would pop in while it was on my mind. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful life.
YES,...will look back and see more pics! YAY! Have you YET received the brown envelopes that I mailed down?? "IF" so,....hope you find it as funny as I did when I opened YOUR brown envelope to ME!!!! Ha! Ha! Picture albums.......get it??! Seriously, let me know what things you receive that you TRULY can use! Ha Ha! Love you!!
RIVERS!!! MAN You should have had a kayak!!! Or a whitewater playboat in the very least!! I think travel there is always an adventure. Glad you had fun.
Oh, how we love you! What adventures you've had over your short years!! You are definitely a "survivor"!
You and Lenin always look so full of smiles as you trek through everything together!
Love the blog, the pictures, and, just hearing from you!!
Congratulations! You looked beautiful!! Congratulations my dear! It was wonderful to see your family, LB, and Arielle in the photos as well... everyone looks as if they thoroughly enjoyed themselves - especially you!
All my love and best wishes! xo
I went... I went into Wal-Mart yesterday and wandered down the shoes aisle. Ha!! Had to stop and laugh when I saw rows of rain boots for ladies. They are available in stripes, polka-dots, hot colors, white boots, and etc. I was just thinking of the beautiful dresses your friends wore and imagining them with THESE boots on instead of the black ones that they bought!! I'll take a picture! Love you, Molly!
AMAZING pictures, Molly! WOW. That's 600 on YOUR camera alone, right?? Plus many many more taken by Kristy and other family and friends!! Whew!! Kodak will LOVE you! So will (DO!!!) I!
Jael did a good job; I'm proud of her for helping and doing such a thorough job. Please thank her for me, OK?
Love you, thanks for EVERYTHING that you did for EVERYONE, we love you, we love Lenin. 'HOW' you got it all accomplished and turned it all into a PERFECT WEDDING is just awesome. We're so happy for both of you and can hardly wait until next year!! XO Mom
