We're about to go on our trip to Thailand and Cambodia. I thought it might be helpful to other travellers from the US (or other places) to see a few pre-departure tips that I've picked up from various places. 1. See the doctor at least two months before your trip. The sooner the better. You may have to get a series of immunizations that have to be spaced out over time. Also, you may have difficulty even finding some medications. Work with your doctor, your local health department, and contact a professional travel clinic if needed. Hospitals are a great resource for malaria prophylaxis. Read the CDC.org destination information before your first doctor visit, so you know what questions to ask. 2.
