Hi, sorry we are probably too late to respond to the Vientiiane question, we stayed at Hotel Khamvongsa. Our hotel in Vang Vieng was Villa Nam Song, which was in a brilliant location, not our cheapest option, but accommodation there seemed either very cheap, or quite expensive. The views from the gardens was spectacular. Have fun!

4000 islands
Hi Both. I apologize if you are receiving this information in duplicate but not sure if the first message was posted. We used Pakse Travel for our trip to 4000 Islands. They arranged pick up from our hotel and we travelled in a shared minibus, they organized the boat and tuk tuk tour at the other end. xxxx

I hope that you, Paula are feeling better. I should have mentioned at an earlier stage that there is a nice boat trip on the Tonle Sap river passing through the stilted villages. It’s rather lovely if you have time.
