Hi !!! Hi Karen! It is sooo fun reading your posts...did it all at once as I procrastinate on even the fun stuff... (?) So you are well into your adventure since Antigua and though I am sure you're road weary and all, it still looks tremendous and makes me long for the freedom of it all. Jes is having the time of her life in her last year of school and doing great. We are still looking forward to doing more work in Guatemala but have'nt any plans as yet. Guatemala seems so 100 years ago...
So good to see you having such a good time!!! I hope it just gets better and better...LIVE IT UP GIRL and stay safe...Hasta luego, JILL

Great tea-break Your "tea-break" sounds idyllic. No doubt you were very touched to plant a tree and know that a part of you will always be there in the garden. Loved the pics as always.

house building in Antigua Dear Karen - what a brave soul you are! Your lastest blog made me feel so humble. What an amazing project to be a part of. I love your description of 'the tiny pebble being cast in that sea of poverty' - and I can just imagine how pleased and overjoyed teh family was when they were given the keys to their new house.
We take so much for granted here, and waste so much, too (even use too much loo roll!)
take care
love from Maureen and Roland.xx
part 1 , gone, part 2 here we go well costa rica looked a green and colourfull place. but also looked a little murky and a bit dangerous. question is would you go back ? lovely photos, keep them coming. love ya , yo bro. xxx
Imagination! Dera Karen - or should I say 'Hola!' (and that's my limit!) Anyway - well done. It all sounds as if it's going to plan and flying over the trees in part of the Rainforest must have been fantastic. your description of seeing/not seeing the poas Volcano reminded me of when I waited and waited ........ to see the sun rise over Macchu Picchu - an amazing experience apparently, but unfortunately not one that I can claim! Never mind! you were there and so was it and the sun will continue to rise and shine on you and your next adventure.
Take care and God bless.
With love from Maureen xx
Reply to your question Hi, I choose the countries I wanted to visit and then did some research with various companies in the uk. I am travelling through a company called "real gap" just google em and you should be able to get to their site and I've found them to be really helpfull. They placed me with my host family which is such a lovely way to really see how people live and far more personal and my spanish although still limited has improved as I wanted to talk to my costa rican mama as much as possible. Anything else I can help you with feel free to ask, karen.
Travels Hola Karen.
I have a question for you. How did you plan your trip and how did you select and contacted your host families and schools to attend. I would like to travel to Central America someday but I have no idea. Please write about it. Thank you and best wishes for you. Be safe.
Hi, I've really done it! After many hours of planning and thinking I finally took the plunge and here I am at the beginning of my journey....
