I'm preparing for over two months abroad, and it's very difficult - there's too much to pack! Anyway, this entry just serves as the starting point for all the posts to come while I am abroad. For those who do not know, this is my planned itinerary: 21 May - Leave the US 22 May - Arrive in France LILLE 29 May - Leave France 30 May - Arrive in Tanzania DAR ES SALAAM, MWANZA, ARUSHA 27 July - Leave Tanzania 28 July - Arrive in US I hope to update this fairly frequently with my going-ons while abroad and any interesting stories. ENJOY!!!! And because I'm watching the CMA Awards at this moment and this is a purely American post: "Y'all know there are seven wonders of the world...eight if you count Paris Hilton's career." ... read more

So I'm writing this entry nearly six months later, but I wanted to start the blog by cataloging past travels before I embark on new ones, so these first few back-dated entries will just provide the "set-up" so to speak. In this entry, I will rewrite/edit what I wrote in the journal that I kept for all 10 days. So bear with the potential randomness. 30 December It's been a long trip, but I'm finally in Israel! It was a surprisingly good flight, despite the fact that I was in the MIDDLE seat of the MIDDLE section. But I liked my flight neighbors. It seems so surreal - being able to see Greece from the window was amazing. Alas, I am really tired from all of the traveling. But I have to pack a bag for ... read more

Like Argentina, I hope to keep this entry broad. It was a great country that I really enjoyed visiting. Montevideo is much cleaner than Buenos Aires, and that made me happy. I really enjoyed the driving along the coast to see everything all the way out to the Jose Ignacio Lighthouse. Pretty sweet. All in all, it was a great two weeks in South America although I do remember stepping off of the airplane in JFK and being glad that I could read all the signs and that the people around me were speaking English. And ... read more

I spent a week in Argentina and absolutely loved the country, even if the city of Buenos Aires disappointed me a little with its dirtiness and extensive graffiti. I won't go into details of the trip here, but it was a great country and I learned that, even though my Spanish-speaking skills are not so hot, my understanding skills are useful. Anyway, it was a fun week especially since I got to see a lot of family for the first time. I believe that it was my first real "out-of-country" experience because, even with trips to ... read more

So I'm writing this entry over a year later, but I wanted to start the blog by cataloging past travels before I embark on new ones, so these first few back-dated entries will just provide the "set-up" so to speak. Montreal is, in my opinion, my first real "out-of-country" experience. I was too young to remember Cozumel, Mexico, and the Bahamas was part of a cruise where we stayed on the beach during our time on the islands. But Montreal was an experience! Things I will always remember are: * First night being Christmas Eve, so most food places were closed * Trying to capture the snow with a digital camera and getting some pretty sweet shots * Jason eating some wild animal in the tiny restaurant that gave us a better-than official exchange rate because ... read more
