Just a note! Just a note to say hi, and tell you that I am so jealous that I can't hardly stand to look at all of this.
I am very happy that you have this opportunity.
Be the way, Diane and I will be paddling the Grand Canyon for nine days at the end of the month. We'll be in a paddle raft so we won't feel like total tourons.
Uncle Mark
Wow Hey Farrell. You have to know, that I thougt Wilson was joking about going to NZ. Sorry I wasn't able to make the trip too. ( I know, I wasn't invited. :) Your journey is so cool. You really have more guts than I ever gave you credit for.
Be sure that you do include the real truth about the Wison stop over. Maybe write in code it the content is that bad.
Life here is one big party. Nice to know my mess should be wrapped up by the end of June. One hell of a party coming my way!!
Keep the stories coming.
:)
Some things never change.... "You guys really missed it.....you should have been here yesterday" You should have tried the dollar trick. Lots of luck next time.
NZ is so beautiful! Mike,
Thanks for the pics - what a beautiful place! Would you be interested in trading places? My nice and dry, but paper-crammed, office for your wet and miserable kayaking experience?
Chris N.
Sunset over Lake Wakatipu Is now my desktop! Thanks Farrel. It was good to finally get an update, MD, Funk, and I were about to mount a rescue mission.
you missed some of the best sites!! when you go to Baler you gotta hit up the Mother falls on the other side of San Luis (the twon before baler). Most the locals know where they are and you can hire a trike there at a relitivly good price. As well as the Bayan tree (its the oldest and biggest in Asia) over in Maria (the next town over). bolth are great places for pictures and just to see.
Damn computers Just caught up on all your travels. Computer f--- up. Your dad sent me an e-mail because I had trouble with the site, all is good now enjoyed the pics and stories. Have fun and talk to you later.
Wish I had a nickel. I wish I had a nickel for everytime you climbed into the "passenger side" of your van to drive. For some reason that cracks me up. I think you should keep track of it. (or at least do a shot everytime you do it)
Celcius is not Metric You've been away too long.
Celcius is not a metric system. It is a centigrade system defining 100 degrees as the boiling point of water and 0 as the freezing point of water.
Work that into your conversation at the local pub and you'll be sure to impress the Kiwi ladies.
Take Care
quick hi Mike - some quick thoughts. Pick up a rock, take a picture and sell it on Ebay as a real Mt Doom rock. Katherine? Sisters? Nice!!! Your taxes are due in about 20 days. Don't make Uncle Sam mad. Are you picking up all of the lingo there?? Don't forget to throw a y'al in there every once in a while! Peace.
Say Again? Reading this blog was kind of like reading a user manual written by the IT department. I read the whole thing and still have no idea what you are talking about. From what I could tell you like it....that's good.
I'll add these TRs to the next AWC newsletter. Try to get a pic of yourself running a rapid! I've joined you in the swim team department...3 on the Ocoee this weekend...arrgggghhh! Any DOBs in NZ?
I've been following your trip on here...I especially liked the Mt Pinetubu (sp?) pics...very cool.
You probably crossed paths with Sheri's parents in Tasmania...they were there right about the same time you were. They are now in the area of Australia that got hit by the hurricane...sounds like they were just north of it and are ok.
Separate thoughts (backwards order from your post):
1. Send pics
2. Sorry about the van... Doh!!
3. Confess Your Swims! Hehehe....how is that again, we're all between swims? Yeah, that's it...
I've decided that I've had enough of the working world. So.... I've quit my job to travel for awhile. Until the money runs out or I get tired. We'll see what happens...
