The first week of school is over and our heads are buzzing! Little by little we´re understanding more so there´s hope for us yet. The prices are amazingly low, especially considering the work involved in the craft being made - it´s all here, tapestries, leather work, carvings, weaving, silver work, hats, etc. We´re having a nice time sussing it all out - and the main market isn´t until tomorrow!! We´re adapting to local conditions, helped by the kindness of the people. We´re certainly getting plenty to eat, and have in fact had to ask for less food. The homestay families are also very friendly, made us very welcome, and give us plenty of language practice. The uncomfortable silences at the meal tables are getting fewer.
