bad timing Jerudong Park used to be the Bruneian Disneyland.. haha.. it was pretty much the nightlife of every Bruneian every single night.. I remember being a kid going there.. oh.. those times. The Pony Express wasn't 'the ride'.. there was a crazy rollercoaster called 'Boomerang' in which the machine is even no longer there.
well.. thanks for visiting though :p
The true thing is Im a Bruneian .The place is peace thats all nothing much, I love The King because he is very kind heart and Good . Brunei Is just a small World and life is very simple here, not very advance, it is quiet bored if you live here for a long term, updating fashions , environment n others are very slow. friendly just because you're a white tourist from outside World. You can try get some opinion from English n Australian living or study here and listen on what they said about here. But if you're really tired living from a crowded pressure city like Your place, then I recommend you to come here for a living, one mission just survive and prevent to get bored. Goodluck
'A Mosque' and 'A Thing' I almost laugh of the caption you gave on 'A Thing' picture. It's actually the number '60' written in Arabic. A monument for His Majesty's 60th Birthday. And the picture of 'A Mosque', it's actually not a mosque. I think it's like a court but it's not. I think it's where the Sultan and other important people have their meetings but I heard they seldom use it. :S
HI.. Hey man, I enjoyed your article and it quite a good read. Its funny also.hahah. :D. Say, What do you think that brunei should improve on? Would you give me your opinion?
World Wide Wilde I know that your blog entry showed up like 3 years ago but it's happening for me now. And I saw a lot of good things happened to you during the trip. I hope that you're still traveling and it's still worth doing it not money wise but mentally. Good work!
perfect It's a perfect story! I hope you've made a movie about it and it's available on YouTube! Shit I was laughing so loud that I woke up everyone in my house! The "Anaconda" transformed movie must be really good stuff. I want a copy of it. Hahah. Good work!
U basically covered all that Brunei stood for with that entry. Granted, certain months give life to a more festive Brunei but all in all, U covered all the 'tourist spots' we've got going. Next time Ure ever around, by all means give a hoot! Being in Brunei is usually only fun when U've got a willing guide (one who won't rip U off) and some plans- which usually come in the form of little get-togethers and whatnot. I can't say that it will be a whooping great time, but it'll be alot more fun :)
[come to think of it, my Ozzie aunt is coming down from Sg to live here. I wonder if she's gna handle it :S hahaha]
Yes Brunei was quite the experience, and by no means a bad one either, I hold very fond memories of Brunei, I'm sure there was plenty more for me to see but I was only limited to a couple of days, would have loved to have got the chance to go and see some Proboscis Monkeys, very strange looking creatures. I do one day hope to be back there though so I can see what else Brunei has to offer. The people I met there though were great, very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for checking out my blog, Take care, Dan.
I love Japan. Its VERY different from where i come from. The life is just so exciting in Tokyo, but once you go to different prefectures, you feel a different kind of life... Interesting too :)
I envy you travelling...
Hilarious! I would have never thought Brunei to be such a place, however, I guess, it can be a bit like you said :) it was such a pleasure to read that i hope you do not mind if i link it to my blog.
Bomb! Fart! Free-rides! Vomit Express! ;) hahahahah just wonderful stuff. If you ever decide to come back to Brunei, do drop me a line. Will try to be as hospitable as one can be... or at least, offer you the best side to Brunei - FAMILY, Friends and Food :)
Brunei is wonderful, though, UK is equally wonderful in a different sort of way :) i hope the experience did not turn you off to come back, should you have the chance :)
Hi to the other guys...
and though it may be a bit belated, Welcome(d) to Brunei Darussalam; Kingdom of unexpected Treasures (as experienced) *wink*
Better luck next time.... You should have come during one of the festive months... such as July where we have our Sultan's birthday celebration... in February where we have our National Day celebration or during Aidil Fitri where the palace is opened for three days to the public and you can shake hands with our Sultan and family...
It got me chuckling reading your travelblog! What an experience! I was puzzled at first with your comment about the capital being virtually empty then you mentioned fasting and hehehe yeah around that time 4 pm onwards Muslims were busy at home or in some eating places getting ready to break their fast... so better luck next time....
Comment from a Brunei snail Haha.. i am sorry about the Theme Park and the Cannon! Anyway, the cannon did frightened me a few times! the Blue building which you thought is a Mosque is actually a Ministry Building. :)
You missed the Empire Country club for a free visit. it really worth 100% of your time. is even before the Themepark. so at the end you didnt see the monkeys??
