the children Thanks for sharing this special day with us, Maggie. I can't imagine how it felt to walk through the hospital and orphanage. I wish there were some way to help all those little children.
Stay safe!!! We all miss you, Honey, but are very proud of what you are doing! I love you, Maggie!

Your thoughts on poverty Maggie, your thoughts on your experiences at the hospital and orphanage were very honest and enlightening. I think it's incredibly hard to fathom that people live in such squalor unless you witness it firsthand. It's especially hard for people like us who live in the wealthiest and most wasteful country in the world, yet so easy to take for granted. I admire your adventuresome and courageous spirit to be, for many of us, a vital window to other very unfamiliar parts of the world. I'm loving your blog entries: a precious record of your inner and outer travels! Big Hug and Happy Holidays!
Cambodia temples Maggie,
So very interesting! The trees growing on and through the temples look like the monsters in "Pirates of the Carribean." How many temples are there--one large one or several small ones? Good photography.
Congrats Never thought that you would end up teaching but it is wonderful. What a weather change you will notice between Thailand and South Korea. It makes me shiver to think about it. Enjoy your trip through Cambodia. Hope your holidays are eventful and that New Year 2007
brings you happiness.
Congratulations! Way to go Maggie! I am glad you enjoyed everything, and had the courage to do this in the first place. Most of all, I am glad that you're focusing on using your cert for the future, instead of coming back here. Have fun traveling- be SAFE, and keep in touch every so often so I know you're ok. I got my vacation approved for end of April/first of May- let me know where I'll be going...!
Congratulations Maggie,
I didn't expect another blog right now because you were busy making decisions about travel. What a nice treat! Everyone here that I talk to is so excited about what you are doing. I love you, Maggie. Glad you are meeting someone in Cambodia.
hmmmm..... Railay is not an island in case you haven't figured that out yet. And nevermind the changes over a couple of months---imagine if you had been there 10 or 20 years ago---you want to talk about changes!!!
Wish I were there Hi Maggie! I am at JFK awaiting a flight to Rochester where I hear it is going to snow 4-8 inches tonight. Knowing this, I am reviewing your beach pictures wishing I were with you! I'm glad the photos are back. I wouldn't want to miss out on anything.
Awesome Photos!!! You took some great photos! Sounds like you are having fun, meeting alot of new people and making new friends. More importantly, you're smiling- that's worth the trip in itself!
Hope you go somewhere new when you're done, so I'll have a new adventure come April 2007!
Oh no!! Are you going to replace it? I bet you could find something reasonably priced that will work for the time being... I hope!
It sounds as though everything is going really well and I am so happy for you! Take care sweetie and remember that noone can steal your memories:)
Camera Fund Hi Everyone, If you enjoy Maggie's blog with photos, you might want to contribute to Maggie's new camera fund. Any amount would be appreciated! Send your contributions to me 930 Monroe Avenue, Loveland, Colorado 80537. I will put it in Maggie's account. She uses a debit card in Thailand.
Maggie, so glad teaching is fun. Your students will love you!
Sorry!!:( I'm so sorry about your camera, Maggie. I'm sure to replace it will not be cheap. Hanging on to that, however, is not as important as knowing at all times where your passport is located, especially in that part of the world. I'm glad you're enjoying the teaching classes, and yes, it does seem as if you've got the genes!! I'm really proud of you, Sweetie. Keep up the good work!!
I love you!

Glad to hear from you We will miss your pictures. Maybe someone can sell you back your camera Real cheap! ha ha. Nice to hear from you Maggie we look forward to your travel journal. Love Auint Sue
wow this is so interesting Maggie - always thought you were a little saucy - and in Thailand they bottle it lol. Your writings are so interesting and I am happy you are doing so well. Hope things work out for your friend.
That has to be a little disheartening.
Love you,
Uncle tom
You seem content and peaceful. Does this feel right? Do they feed you food or do you have to buy it? Is everyone who stays in the mansion going to your school? How long is the school again? How far away is the school? Is the harbor nearby? I want to hear all about everything! I miss you!
Even I could get around with an elephant!! Hi Maggie,
I loved the pics and your comments. You really sound as tho you are getting settled. It is great that you got to get away before the school starts. Here it is basically the same old, same old. I talked to your mom tonight and she seems very enthused about your adventure.
Having Thanksgiving at Kim's next week. Stephanie is coming up for a few days so it should be a funtime. Am going to see Walter this week and then I am meeting my brother at my camp for the weekend. Later and good luck.
Love,
Uncle Tom
WOW!!! Oh, Maggie, this is so awesome. I feel as if I am right there with you. I can't believe you're seeing and experiencing all these neat things! I think about you every day and say a little prayer for you every night! I'm also envious of the traveling you're doing. Bravo to you for doing something so wonderful!!! I love you!

Wow! Hey Mags,
What a treat to get your photographs. Looks beautiful as do you in your photograph with the big smile. I'm sure you are having much more fun than I am at the moment. (you're probably sleeping now). I'm at my desk at work looking out the window at a very dreary rainy NY day. I guess I should be grateful it isn't snowing. FYI, election results, democates take over power in the house of representatives. I've very happy. We are still waiting to see about the senate, too close to call.
How long is the boat ride in one of those water taxis? Just so you know I'm trying to save my vacation time to make a visit to you. right now I only have 2.29 days! How did I use up so much of my vacation time?? Anyway I'll have more soon enough.
Love you lots,
Jennifer
Hey Fred! Hola Maggs! Sorry to hear about the toothbrush incident. Hope the tequilla helped. Sounds hot! I'm not too jealous yet because it hasn't been terribly cold here, but give it time. My opinion of the restaurant that overcharged you - the staff was mad that you figured out their scam and they tried to make you feel bad so you wouldn't say anything to anyone else.
I'll email... seems better than leaving comments right now.
Looking forward to more updates :)
Hi Maggie!
I'm glad to hear that 30 hours of travel was easy. Hopefully, you've figured out a way to communicate with the natives and are starting to find your way around. Write soon so we can hear about your adventures.
Love you,
Kim
I recently left my job, sold my car, dropped my cell phone, and moved to Phuket, Thailand to attend TEFL school. I hope to be in southeast Asia for at least a year, traveling and working, starting my new life adventure. ... full info
