We are starting to adjust to the new times zone (but anyone who is worried about Tyler should rest easily, he continues to sleep very well). We had a huge breakfast in our apartment this morning and then hopped on the Tube for Leicester Square. At this point we would like to mention the London Underground or Tube. The system is truly amazing and provides a very easy way to navigate around the city. We started at Leicester Square, where we purchased "day of" tickets for "The Mousetrap" a long-running Agatha Christie mystery in the West End. We then returned to Trafalgar Square for some photos and then walked the Victoria Embankment, along the river, to Westminster Pier. At the pier, we boarded a boat for the trip to Greenwich, home of the Royal Navy War ... read more

In yet another example of how "life isn't fair," we had a very unequal night of jet-lagged induced sleep. Ed and Lisa slept fitfully, dozing in and out all night long. Tyler, on the other hand, slept like a rock for 16 hours (must be nice to be a teenage boy!!!!). After breakfast we jumped on the Tube to Tower Hill, home to the Tower of London. Construction of the Tower began in 1066, and it has been a fixture on the Thames, and at the entrance to the City of London ever since. A Yoman Guard (or Beefeater) gave us a very informative, and surprisingly funny tour of the Tower. We then spent much of the rest of the day exploring this historic fortress. We laughed out loud when our videographer (Jeff) was commanded to ... read more

Arrived London Heathrow at 5 a.m. Cleared British Customs & Immigration and took Heathrow Express Train into the city, arriving at the bustling London Paddington Station before 6. From Paddington, we took an iconic London Cab to our apartment in Canary Wharf. We dropped our bags and began a hard-target search for breakfast (which was tougher than you would think. There are 13 million people in this city. Don't they eat breakfast?). After our appetites were satisfied, we started our exploration of the City. We took the Tube (more on the Tube later) to Westminster and visited Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. We then walked down Whitehall to Horse Guard Parade. Allison was a bit intimidated by the size of the horses, but she bravely stood next to 1 of the great ... read more

Today we start a great adventure. Before we get started, let us tell you how we got here. We have always wanted to go to Wimbledon. But you get busy in life, and we had just not gotten around to it. That was until Tyler had the opportunity to go to the US Tennis Open in New York. Ty's adventure reminded us that life is short, and if you want to go to Wimbledon, well ... then you should go to Wimbledon. Wimbledon is in London, and it turns out there are things to see and do in London, besides Tennis. So here we go. The Stone Family vacation begins... No adventure is without mishaps, and our mishaps started early. We arrived at the Madison airport, only to be informed that the flight to Chicago was ... read more
