Clearly not the right drugs... I've been in Bali. No internet access in our rock n roll villa. (well there was, just chose to ignore it for a few days).
Wedding rocked! Pictures up on Facebook. Hundreds of them.
Ok, gotta go...still at work 9.15pm.
Just got told today that I'm off to Pakistan on the 30th June. Can't wait...hear it's a blast over there...place really goes off! (Thank you, thank you very much, I'm here all week!)
reply to all comments! Mum - yes we did have pain relief in our box of tricks, the supply is now quite depleted. Didn't make it to Wenceslas Square.
Miss M - yes we did bring gout medication from home.
Char - seriously, flag Prague and go to Cesky Krumlov instead! It's way, WAY better, nobody on our bus who we've been hanging out with really liked Prague, this little town has all the same attractions and none of the crap (mess, dog poo, graffiti, rude people).
Yay!! Oh my gosh!! You both are having such a fabulous time :-) You have given me some excellent ideas for my next trip to Europe (maybe next year) We had roast chicken for dinner last Sunday, ( I just caught up on your previous blog) it was great, tender yummy and the veges just right, this is amazing as its the first roast I haven't completed stuffed up, yay!! Rohani, you should pose for touristy pics, its just part of the joy of travelling, Prague is one of the places I really want to go to along with Paris. I can't wait to see your night time pics of Prague. Ok, I have raved on, hope you are both good, don't get sick for goodness sake, it sounds like your czech hospital trip was a mission!! Take care, Char xox
Working the Northern Loop Hope the gout has cleared up by now, maybe its the drugs they are giving you arent real drugs - or did you bring some gout drugs from home, thats what John does!! Perhaps there is something in the sausages that induces gout??
No roast meals here but schnitzel for tea, I dont suppose that sounds like you are missing much, no kartofflen salat with that though.... Did you get my email requesting a post card, PO Box 43, Drury, 2247 in case you didnt....
Enjoy the free beer at Cesky Krumlov Rohani!!
Cheers
MM
you two buggers look like your having a freaking blast! just as well that wasn't one of you ricocheting through the air! happy bday for friday rich! you big oldie xxxx
Berlin & Prague Hey you two. Glad you got to Checkpoint Charlie. I stayed about 100 metres away (on the eastern side) from the gateway in '95. I was in Prague in '93 and enjoyed Herodjgeny (sp) Castle and Wenceslas Square (did you get there?). Hope the weather cools down a little for you - maybe in Austria, with any luck. Did you carry some pain relief in your medical box of tricks? Did you have to get into it for the pain Richard? Keep safe and take care.
Mum
Well.........been home from Broome a week and just caught up with you both. I have been crying again cos yous is so funny!!!!!
Nice to hear Lisa a weepy woo just like her Mum!XX
Molly loved the dog hotel and has been a bit naughty since she came home but I'm whipping her in to shape. (Loves ragging ALL the bears out of the teddy bear room as I can attest to when I picked up 103 from around the house.)
I came home looking like Hiawatha with fantastic tan. Booked again for next year, without Grandma, who was lovely but full on and never relaxes!. Worked out how to get around that, by breakfast at 7am then poolside by 8.
Travel safely darlings. Miss you.
Love Mum
Greetings! I love your commentary - very entertaining to read while eating my muesli and yoghurt for breakfast (didn't have a sunday roast so thought I would tell you about sunday breakfast instead).
I can confirm that that nephew of ours is walking and doing a little talking - I have told him he has got three weeks to learn how to say Aunty Stacey. Its not really working so far!
This weekend I have booked busabout from Prague to Rome and the greek Islands thing. So, I will be waiting for more travel advice about the hostels etc!!
Thanks for making my breakfast entertaining!
Stacey
Yay, another Heineiken freak just like me! Ahh, Berlin is quite interesting. Three things you must see in Berlin - the Berlin Wall (a barrier separating West Berlin from East Berlin), Brandenburg Gate (a famous landmark over 200 years old and symbolises the division during the Cold War) and the Checkpoint Charlie (remains of the border control a crossing point between East / West Berlin). All free sights.
Munich is good. Make sure you have a “Bavarian” mass beer at the Hofbrauhaus and have a wurst (sausage) at the food market can’t remember where. I’ve been to Dachau concentration camp twice and it is one of my best highlights because it truly has opened my eyes. A very eerie place and if you’re the emotional kind, make sure you bring a pack of tissues. As soon as you read their stories, it’ll blow your mind away!
It was great to see Pam, Len and Jennie when they came to stay for a few days. They loved our cottage and as all mothers do, they pott about in our house, pull weeds from the garden, made a yummy cheese platter, cooked dinner and done the dishes (ahhh, bliss)! We chatted and drank gin and tonic every night they are sooo funny.
Terence is having his knee operation on Thursday and will be practically handicapped for a few weeks. I’m not really looking forward to do all the feeding, washing up and stuff. Bugger!
We want photos sooooonnn!!!
Love big Sis x
actually if you must know, I found some nice kiwi meat at one of the supermarkets so made a yummy warm beef salad. Nadiah got traffic light macaroni cheese. (red and green peppers and carrots - you work it out). So will that count instead of a sunday roast?
news from the Pore Hello. Well news from the Pore is that I'm leaving on a jet plane tomorrow morning with Margie, Heather and Dan and absolutely HANGING OUT to hit our villa in Bali. Jo leaves this afternoon in a group of 9 (her and parentals and siblings). we are all just SOOOOO excited. taking the laptop so will hopefully have access at our villa to post piccies. Sorry to hear amsterdam wasn't as fabulous as you had hoped...not much else happening here except for your neice being a massive drama queen and telling me that she has a "big idea" which is that I'm a "silly buggar". she did however put a baseball cap on backwards on her head last night in the garden and said "peace out homie" un-prompted. you must be SO proud.
fun fun fun Hey Guys! YOu sound like you are having a great time!!! Its certainly is the R and R show!!! Funny and good stuff! Thanks for sharing your holiday with us! Sort of!!!!
The kiddies say hi!!!(p.s) Sorry for not calling ya back!!!!
Bah...who cares about the London 7s. there will be other ones you can go to. Classic ABs however is another story.
I'm very jealous of all the sightseeing you're doing. You know, all the the times I've been to London and I have never ever visited the Queen in her city crib? I've seen her country manor from afar driving down the highway....does that count?
have a fabulous trip across Europe...I'm a wee bit excited to hear about the rest of your journey!
Men in Fluffy hats glad you guys are having a good time - your blog is actually making me exciting for 5th July when I will be back in London. Jealous that you got a good pic of the guards on your first weekend! They eluded me the whole time I was there (well, I saw them, just not close up!).
Am gonna book buasbout soon - might give you an email sometime re: the accomodation and your recomendations!
Re: Bruges - ahhh so much chocolate! I recomend the river tour, climbing the tower and maybe trying to see a bit of Christ's blood. oh, and the Fritz (chips with tom sauce and alioli), the peach beer, and the mussels. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
So about the other rugby stuff... When we got home from Leicester we checked some NZ news sites to see if they reported the game - of course not, there was much better rugby to talk about...the London Sevens at Twickenham. Yes, we feel like twats for missing that one but we still had a great time.
Alwight!! I promised myself I wouldn't weep happy but I guess I couldn't help it. I had a sleepless night and was so damn excited to see you. I can't remember the last time I weeped... so gotta let it all out at some point. Don't we all...?!
Yay, love your blog Aunty R and Uncle R. Gave me something to do at 1.45am seeing I can't sleep! Hope you have a good trip to London and I look forward to travelling vicariously through you guys until July 2nd when I leave myself.
Have fun!
Aunty Stacey
