Coming through the standard education that pushed myself to seek for academic excellence, I never really knew what I wanted to do, and no aspirations on what I really want to be in the future. Growing up from a not so well-to-do family (but a very blessed one), I had little opportunities to travel, hence making my every journey on the plane/cruise/train a precious one. With every trip, I grew to like, then love the idea of just packing a bag, fly and go. An immense sense of satisfaction from understanding more about an unknown place, interacting with the locals from a foreign land, and becoming more knowledgeable, and humble, in the process. I'm not quite sure where it started either, and I don't proclaim myself to be a seasoned traveler (far from it), but now, at least I know that I have something in mind that I want to achieve.
To travel to as many countries as my legs can bring me to, view as many places as my eyes doesn't fail me to, interact with as many locals as I meet along the way, and touch and be touched by the many lives outside of the little country that belongs to a much bigger world.
I returned not long ago from UK, where I had my Student Exchange Program in 2013. I was fortunate and very privileged to be able to travel to various places in Europe, where the bulk of my adventures happened. That's also what sparked the idea of writing a travel blog. An avenue to pen down my thoughts and recollect my journeys (some of my travels before December 2012 have excerpts of my reflections and photos) along the way. So that when I'm old, come 50, 60 years, there are stories to look back, to share with the younger ones.
Be it alone, with my other half, with family, with friends, with my kids in the future, or with fellow travellers out there. To live a life of no regrets.
