Beautiful! Thank you for sharing the Temple photos! They're beautiful! :-) It looks like you have your pick of gorgeous fresh fruits! I'm not so sure about the frogs and turtles. lol Enjoy!
Feels like I'm there too Thanks for the blog updates Ian. Would be cool to explore down there with you too. Never had a suit but would definitely pick one or 4 while I was there. Thanks for the great photos.
Kowloon Ian, you are a great reporter and a good photographer. I still have a suit coat with a silk brocade lining and my name embroidered in the lining I got there in 1962. I can't get in it but can't bear to part with it.
Bizarre Foods with Ian Young OMG!! Again, I can't stop smiling for you. Wish I could be there with you for all your food adventures. If you could describe the food like Andrew Zimmern, that would be great too. Love you!!
I don't quite have the guts at this point to eat anything too crazy. I did see a place yesterday that was selling rotten duck and quail eggs. They were really very pretty, but I was to afraid to try it being so far from my hotel. I will get there soon I'm sure.
Hey man -- my mouth is still watering from the pix of your meals. As I have often said -- some one has to fill these accommodations on the aircraft -- but frankly I wish it were me -- but at the same time I have been there already a few times but I must admit I was not delivered there on a magic carpet like you were. Thanks for the great pixs -- it sure does bring back memories. I hope you have had an opportunity to get some sleep -- you will be able to talk better Cantonese if you do. Lou
Flight Ian, that was an excellent account of your flight. No question. Business is the way to go. And if you are to be sane enough to conduct business when you arrive, it is worth the price to your business.
This will be a fantastic opportunity. When I was in the Navy, Hong Kong was the highlight of every cruise. We had a short three days there in 1961 and 1962. It was British then and, I know,m a lot different now. How long will you be there and what is the job you are working on?
Business class with the lie flat seats, will make the 16-hour flight almost pleasant. With all of our trips to Europe and New Zealand, the best that fits our budget is economy plus, which helps a lot. On our African Safari trip to Kenya, we bit the bullet and went business class. Being able to lie flat and sleep helped a lot on comfort and not being so tire when we arrived.
Have a safe trip and enjoy every moment! ? This blog is an awesome idea, Ian! I'll pass on the link so we can all live vicariously through you! Lol I know you're there to work, but have a fabulous time as well!

Beerpong I believe there is a quote in the movie Beerfest "I was playing ping pong on Ding Dang... I was in a real high stakes game in an opium den. Turns out, the guys I beat weren't the type of guys who liked to lose..."... My challenge for you Ian, is to play ping pong in an opium den..... Seriously, have fun buddy and don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Have an awesome adventure! Hey Ian - so glad you're posting on this blog! Have an amazing time - I'll try to find some cool things for you to do. Enjoy it all! :) Vic
