Dziekuje bardzo! We're at the Krakow airport and all going our separate ways in just a few hours. It's a bittersweet day for everyone. We'll put together a slideshow and present it at a Bible Study in a month or so. See you soon!

Thanks for Sharing
It has been really refreshing to my wife and I to share your experience in Gliwice. We really miss seeing and working wth the Gliwice Habitat staff. But most of all we miss the opportunity to work with a group of volunteers as we had the pleasure to do for a few years before my wife's illness. We did much of the same work your team has done but on building #7. The wind-down day was always one we looked forward to when the week began but regretted that we reached it because it meant the end of another great experience. It seems the tv and press reporters just don't understand why Americans come to Poland to work with Habitat. We were asked the same question many times. Adam once told us there is no word that exactly translates to "volunteer" in Polish. The closest translation, he said, is compassion. The other reason I think is because the Polish people have been lied to and tricked so many times by foreigners that they are somewhat apprehensive about people being willing to help them. Did you make it to the new mall in Gliwice? It was just being completed the last year we were in Poland. Please give our greetings to Adam, Michal and Asia.

Article in local newspaper
Hi guys, I am sure you would like to know that the article in the local newspaper was already published, including Terri', Chuck's and Andrea's quotations. It's very positive, I like it a lot. Fred is on the photo. You can read it at http://miasta.gazeta.pl/katowice/1,35063,6940246,Amerykanie_wola_urlop_na_budowie_od_plazy.html. Right now it is shown on the main page of Gazeta.pl - the newspapers on-line portal, visited by millions of Poles every day!

Terri/Chuck - Do you remember?
Do you remember me trying to buy a bottle of the vodka with the grass in it? The buffalo vodka? Adding horns to my head and snorting and scrapping - more like a bull! She finally just had me go behind the counter and grab it myself. That was HILARIOUS!!!!!

Hotel Sezam
Good luck with the "parking lot dog". The university parking lot behind the hotel is the living space (or it was when we were there) of a watchdog that barked whenever something or someone moved which kept us awake a good portion of the night. Ask Adam or Michal for fans. They provided them to us and they were really useful in the August heat.
