You should have stayed at Ana Warung and Bungalow You should have stayed at Ana Warung and Bungalow. Clean rooms, great veranda's, best food on the island. It was only a stones through from where you were staying. Good prices aswell.
Vietnam Took me awile to work my way around your e mails which said "do not reply to this." Hope I am in the right place now.
What brilliant photos and very informative and interesting travel information. What a wonderful time you are having and making the best of it. Good that Liam was able to join you and benefit from your experiences. Sad to think the Vietnamese areas are still showing signs of the war which was so long ago. Those poor defenceless people. All is well here as far as I know. The weather has been freezing and worse in Christchurch with the snow on the ground.
Great read Lynne, you should take up travel writing. Lovely to see photos of Liam!!!
Keep having fun and I will look forward to further Blogs........
Take care, lots of love to you both,
Sue xo
Congrats on this blog! Hi, upon looking for infos on Vietnam I found your blog, and it's a great one. I like how you get into everyday life details such as food costs and quality. Very helpful!
Cheers from Spain
re Hoi An Thanks for that...was just there in aug/ sept 09 when 1st floodong started. That town holds a special place in my heart (tears form whilst looking thru ) We cant wait to go back & like yourselves, felt safe there- the people are so lovely- esp when you consider their past & present situations.
Arcadia Regency Thank you very much for your recommendation of the Arcadia Regency. We totally agree that it is the best value hotel in India. We are spending our last three nights of six weeks in India there and are doing nothing and absolutley enjoying it.
Thanks for the really informative information on Laos and Cambodia. So many people write where they have been and where they have stayed without giving specific information. Your tips are greatly appreciated as I leave Sydney on 5th April and am heading for Laos. Enjoy the rest of your travels!
Newtons Manor We stayed in Newtons Manor at the recommendation of
our driver and found it just fine for the price. I was wary of
the electrical wires about the room and the outlets, but
found in subsequent trips to India, this is pretty normal for
such places.
Mandawa haveli I love your descriptions of Mandawa. We stayed in the same
hotel and the food was the worst in four trips to India. We'd been warned about buffets and this one was inedible except for the
desserts. We are still nearly stamping our feet when laughing about the "entertainment". Breakfast was horrid, too. How can anyone spoil breakfast? They managed. We got up early in the morning and watched the town wake up. Interesting!
Hey Travellers! Quick hi! Love the blogs, our new home looks exactly like your beachside paradise but ours is there everyday!! We are fit & well- sounds like you both are too.... with all those long island iced teas!! mmm. Wishing you both a Merry Xmas & will drop another line soon!!
grantym@xtra.co.nz Carl at the disco photo, absolutely brilliant makes me want to jump on a plane right now....not. Discos are the same where ever you go eh, the look of enthusiasm is breath taking. Love the photos, any castles over there by chance? Cock-a-doodle-doo!
Love your sunset photos at Phu Quoc Love your sunset photos from your bangalow long Long Beach in Phu Quoc. Thanks for your concern over rubbish in Phu Quoc. We locals will try our best for this issue which is bad in Viet Nam and seems worse in Phu Quoc. Please come back. Sapa is my favourite place and hard to know any ice-creams could beat Fanny ice-cream. Good luck with your travels. THT
We love backpacking around SE Asia. We blog to keep interested family and friends up to date with our travels, but also to give travelers an idea of local costs.
2007: We traveled for 6 months through Vietnam, Thailand, India, Cambodia and Laos.
2012: We traveled for 6 months through Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
2015: We are going to travel for 6months through Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia
Language was never a problem, we never felt unsafe and we never had anything stolen. We would do it again in a flash and definitely recommend it!
