Our stay in Singapore has been absolutely fantastic. It's a real cosmopolitan, ultra-modern city with so much going on, and so much to see and do. After arriving here on our first day we checked out all the famous sites around the city, including the war memorials, Raffles landing place and Clarke Key. The Merlion, a huge lion/mermaid sculture sprouting water, used as an emblem for Singapore, is very cool, and situated right on the waterside. The Theatre Complex opposite is a sight in itself. Two huge egg-shaped domes set on the waters edge. On our second to last night we strolled down to see the whole area lit, and ended up sitting on the promenade, watching a live band play on the open-air stage, with the stunning city skyline behind us, reflecting off the shore.
