Hello from Ulan Bator, Vicky here! I'm not such a diligent blogger as Titia, but that gives me the luxury of adding to what Titia has said. This is a bit of a nostalgic trip for me, having visited Beijing and Mongolia 6 years ago. But there are new and exciting things too. The Olympics in Beijing were quite an experience. I have never been to any sporting event in my life, so starting with the Olympics may not be the most representative experience. Beijing was gripped with Olympic fever, and as always, organised by officialdom to perfection. The red armband wearing volunteers on the underground made me smile. They made the crowds line up according to the painted marks on the platform whilst waiting for the train, leaving a gap for passengers to get off
