Ah, San Fran..... Hi Linda and John,
Great to hear from you and that you are in SF. Heidi and Jan lived in San Rafael and also in Fairfax. If you have not seen Fairfax, it is worth the drive. Go up 101 to San Rafael, then head west a few miles to Fairfax. Great little ice cream shop there, home made ice cream. It is right down town near the lights. Also great natural foods store across the street if you are into that at all. Funky little hippy town that time forgot.
I am going to down in your neck of the woods on the 25th thru the weekend, as I am getting a knee replacement at Wentworth-Douglass. Same doc, different body part.
It will be good to have you two back this way, and maybe we can get together for a burger at the Rusty whatever it is called sometime this fall.
Safe travels home.

Wolfgang's tgravel blog Linda and John,
I thought I had you e-mail address in my list, but that seems not to be the case, so I am using this comment section to pass on the URL for Wolfgang's blog: http://wolfgangflorida.blogspot.ca/search/label/English He is doing much the same trip as you, so his comments about places visited as well as good and bad campgrounds may be useful. I don't know whether you met Wolfagang and Billie in the Cove - they are from Cologne, Germany and are our next door neighbours in the Cove.
It is great reading your blog and getting a feel for the fascinating areas you have visited. Have a safe trip and may the remainder be as enjoyable as it has been up to now.
Will you be visiting "Head Smashed in" Buffalo Jump and the Tyrrell Museum in Alberta? Very interesting places.
I have been thinking of you in the last few days and wondering how you are doing? We have not been enjoying the excessive heat but are having a good summer. All of the grandkids were here last friday for a group picture. That was like herding cats! Thanks to modern technology I hope the photographer can move enough heads to come up with a good picture. Hve fun and let us know your plans for your return trip east. I still have a few puzzles here, including the Sistine Chapel lovingly given to me by my darling Rachael. We'll see about that. Love, Thora
janemd@roadrunner.com Hi Linda and John, come home, as it was over 32 here today, and all the ice that we got last night has melted and snow shoeing is wonderful. Check out the photos on Face Book if you get a chance.
Interesting to hear about Carlsbad Caverns, that is one place that has always fascinated me. Hope you both stay warm and safe. Keep the blogs coming.
Always,
Jane and Rick
writing a lot... Actually, Thora, I am just verbose. We have skipped thousands of things on this trip, sleep very long at night, and relax and enjoy our cozy RV a lot. We do savor the things we choose to see.
safe travels Hi There,
You may well be home by now, if so, hope your trip home was uneventful and you two are settled back in. Call us when you have caught your breath, as we would love to see you in person and hear about your trip.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Jane and Rick
sorry Hi Linda and John,
Sorry you lost your blog into cyberspace, I was looking forward to reading it and learning about the area of all of the westerns. Hope you can recount it sometime.
Heidi, Jan and George Ray (can't figure out what to call him, may settle with my nickname of Sunny) are all back in NE safe and sound. They are with us, as the house they thought they had may have some mold issues, so that is on hold for the moment. It is wonderful to have all the girls and their families within an hour, at least for a couple of months.
Hope you have a safe trip and we really do look forward to the blogs, so please keep them coming.
Jane
ps foliage is spectacular this fall, and weather wonderful.
Sounds like you are still having a wonderful time. By the way, David just raked up a handful of leaves when he mowed today. Friends and I look forward to our annual foray into one of the state parks to gather pine needles. We take turns watching for a ranger since we're not sure if they would approve. I make a stash and use them all year in the gardens. Enjoy the rest of your trip Love, Thora
Madison Boulder Hi There, We got your postcard and need to dispute, as I don't think that El Capitan outdoes Madison Boulder, perhaps more dramatic, but not if you were just meandering around in the woods, and came upon the boulder......
Sounds like you both are having a wonderful time. It is great travelling via your blogs, that way we get to see where we want to go and perhaps where we might not want to go.
I got your email Linda, and it is 3 more days to "Christmas" for us, as Heidi, Jan and George Ray (or Ray as we call him) fly home. We are so very excited. Rick is doing well at school, no formal classes or homerooms, so none of the usual kid issues, different, but good.
Look forward to the next installment.
Jane and Rick
Thanks for all the blogs Linda, I want you to know how much both Dick and I are enjoying all your blogs. What a fabulous trip you are having and all the detailed accounts of your experiences really makes it all come alive for us too...even though we are just sitting on the coast of Maine watching the tide go in and out (sort of!). I've been to only a few of the places you're written about and it is fun to hear about them from your perspective, and you certainly are much more perceptive, as well as a much better writer than I ever will be.
Thanks again for taking the time to share ith all of us!
Carol
163th ave SE My parents live north of a town of about 300 people, there are maybe three avenues in that town, but tier address is on 136th Ave SE. The government in it's wisdom has given everyone a specific street address. As far as I can tell, in ND, the 0,0 point is the physical center of the state. My folks live S and E of the center of the state, thus the SE designation in spite of the fact that they live N of the closest town, and NW of the largest town in the state. Out here in WA, in the rural areas, you see individual address signs with 6 or 7 digit numbers followed by "PR" which seems to mean private road (123456 E Tierney PR SE). This is supposed to help the 911 responders find you.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in ND. It is a great place.
Great to hear form you I really enjoyed all you blogged and I know Dick will too. We are living the trip with you. What an adventure, and I'm glad it is going so well. Glad you enjoyed Macinac Island as much as we did...fun to see how the other 1/2 of 1% live....most of us don't spend $1000/night for accomodations! But the fudge and everything else was great for us too.
Keep on blogging, and thanks for all you are sharing!

I will vote for the randy trucker Hi Linda and John,
So did you find the randy trucker that wants to be a state senator? Wouldn't that campaign be interesting?
Your blogs are so much fun to read, I like traveling by osmosis, especially not having to pay the Canadian gas prices. Sounds like you two are having a great time. We are well, still no baby. Will keep you posted.
Jane and Rick
hi Hi There you two. Hope you had a good 15th anniversary last night. Great to hear of your adventures, keep them up. I can only imagine the looks on your faces when you saw the pasta all over the floor. Good image.
One suggestion is that you date your entries, as when I read back on my journal the summer we toured Greece, it is good to have the dates to refer back to after all these years.
Have a blast and we look forward to hearing about your travels and adventures.
Jane and Rick
trip progress Sounds like you had a much less eventful start than you did on the Florida trip. Would love to explore Canada. Banff was a favorite trip for us but we haven't seen much else. Check it all out for us. You always come back with good travel reviews. Love, Thora
poodles Hey, Mike, if you are into poodles, maybe you would like to join the new fan club "Is this poodle with a foil hat more popular than Glenn Beck" which seems to be somewhere on Facebook. Meanwhile, enjoy Chubbs! Tell her hi from us.
Tell us a bit about yourself: this information will appear on your page and can be edited later.
John and I have been tent camping for years, and have enjoyed wonderful road trips in the USA. Now we have bought a big motor home, and this is the beginning of our adventures in it.... full info
