Verona surprised me too! Share the same sentiment with you. Verona was such a pleasant surprise. Didn't expect to see an entire Roman amphitheatre there for one. And i love the cafe scene. Did you queue up to touch Juliet's er......y'know? Anyway, thanks for sharing. Those photos look great, far better than the ones I took!
Fair Verona - cobbled Cobbles are hard on the feet, though lovely to look at. We didn't see Verona but it sounds wonderful. Not sure about that balcony - I wouldn't want to be standing underneath it - it looks VERY heavy! The music everywhere was one of the things we liked about Europe, too. Glad you enjoyed the opera - and what a wonderful venue for it! I'd love to perform in there.
Urban Jungle Yes, that's what we found in Asia - greenery everywhere- even growing up buildings and on bridges etc. Everything is so lush. Love the Western takeaway- although Crabsticks Spaghetti is a rather unusual "western" meal! The toweres are very impressive, too.
Great pictures This looks so much better now you have the photos to go with the text. I like the rolling green of the plantation. I think the gold lion looks fiercer than you, though. He's lovely. Nice to see you in one of the shots, though! Re the blue flower (yes very unusual colour for a flower) what do you mean by "long handing"? I counldn't guess at anything that made sense.
Churches galore You'll see a lot more of those old churches and cathedrals as you continue around Europe. They are amazing and they each have something that is different to others, although as you said, we found they all kind of blend into each other in your mind after a while. Still wonderful to see, nonetheless. Jesus looks very strange with his extra arm in the Pieta. I've always wondered what a sculpture does when he makes a mistake - you can't just paint over it.
Love the arcade - definitely bigger than our Royal Arcade. Don't you love the floors in those places?
Fair Verona We never made it to Verona but you have made me want to see it. There is a wonderful feeling of history in places like that, isn't there? They transport you into the past so you can picture life at the time, although cobbles are a bit hard on the feet. Lucky you to find so much music around you. Glad you enjoyed it, especially the opera! What a marvellous place to see it. I'd love to perform there!
5 squares of toilet paper I was just reading in the tour guide we were given for our trip to Egypt that the women handing out the toilet paper have to buy it themselves. This would explain why they are so stingy when handing it out. Makes you wonder what their local governments are doing about the maintenance and upkeep of public toilets. We don't realise how lucky we are and how much we take for granted until we travel to other countries.
Cool insects What kind of cool insects did you touch? Maybe you can post a few photos later. I wouldn't have touched the scorpion either! You seem to be all about insects on that trip - bees, butterflies and bugs. Sounds as though you enjoyed the Highlands more than KL itself, apart from the buses.
Catching up Thanks hun! I'm gonna update the Malaysian part now. I hope I don't let things get too far behind or it's going to be impossible to catch up soon! Thanks for reading. HUGS
Avoidance! Yes the silk is hard to resist! But I've managed fairly well because I have no room for it. AT ALL. My backpacks zippers are about to burst. I did have to buy me another black skirt/dress though because I had nothing to wear while I washed the other one!
I've managed to avoid the asian loo's because some of the more touristy places and shopping centres have "western" loo's so i just hold on until I can find one! Hehe.
Not so lovely loos I don't think I warned you about the squat-over-a-smelly-hole loos did I? Ah well. At least you can't catch anything from the seat! Did you see anything unusual in the market? I love the Asian silk. so cheap and so colourful. Get it while you can!
Can't wait! Thank you! I haven't done black and white photography for a while now. I should get back into it. Yes I'm planning to go to Spain for a month. Can't wait!
Woot! Great to hear. Thanks! One thing I should mention though is that our version of The London Eye is broken. :( We had nearly a week of 40 degree heat last year and things warped apparently. Lol.
Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for the helpful info Hey cheers for the guide to your city. I'm planning on heading there later this year and its nice to get a bit of background from a locals perspective!
Cheers
Photography Thanks for your lovely comments Ramz! I do love travel, but then I think everyone on this site does! :D The 400D is probably more affordable now because its been superseded. I don't know anything about the more recent Canon camera but it may be worth looking into if you want the best of what's available. Although I love my camera (and those shots you liked were taken in auto mode!) Good luck with it all.

Couch Surfing Thanks halefg! I have already joined them and become a verified member. :D A friend of mine did it in Germany. I was a little unsure of the safety at first but if you choose carefully it looks pretty good. Do you host travellers? What country are you from?
About Me: I'm an Aussie from Melbourne and it´s definitely a beautiful city and a fantastic place to live BUT I've now been living in England since December 2009 and I LOVE it! Between leaving Oz and moving to England I backpacked Italy, Spain and France for three months. Best experience of my life. Most recently I've been working on cruise ships as an Entertainment Host but don't really find any time to blog about it! :( Moved to the eclectic and wonderful Brighton and plan to stay here for the forseeable.
Highlights so far: Watching the opera Notre Dam di Paris at... full info
