Six Women on a Journey

We are three sisters, Karen, Lorie and Georgianna, plus one adopted sister, Carlette, our mother, Joan, and our aunt Susie. We are a close family and have always enjoyed spending time together. Our first "girl" trip was a little over 10 years ago when my grandmother was able to join us. We spent a long weekend in Charleston, South Carolina and had such a great time that our "girl trips" soon became a yearly tradition. Almost five years ago, while returning from San Francisco, California, where we celebrated my 40th birthday, we hatched a plan to save money for our future travels. We set up a savings account and decided that we would all deposit $10 per month and $25.00 for each birthday (no one has missed running around and worrying about trying to find a gift that the was most likely not needed or wanted). We still; however, celebrate the birthday with a meal because, lets face it, southern women celebrate everything with food. Anyway, with our deposits and the proceeds from twice yearly yardsales (a great way to clean out clutter and make extra travel money) our trips have become more affordable. So that's us, six southern women always on a journey to fun and laughter, wherever that takes us. Y'all are all welcome to come along.
