CONGRATSSSSSSS 1. CONGRATS Shosh!! That's AMAZING! I'm so proud of you!!
2. Malaysia sounds awesome! Esp. this bread dipped in multiple curries. A nice night with a cool cover band and various travellers sounds like a very enjoyable night.
3. Keep us updated on the differences between Thailand and Malaysia, esp. when it comes to religion. I'm fascinated. Enjoy Malaysia knowing that you're quite the accomplished law student!
I hate you because I'm jealous. I have been updating excel spreadsheets all day. I hope you enjoyed your coconut oil massage on the beach. That is all.
food ah I love it I loved this post as I love all Thai food and the descriptions brought back so many memories of trips we have had there. Thanks for the moments of pleasure on a dull wednesday afternoon in the UK
surfing Disappointingly no. I read in lonely planet that there was surfing in Phuket at Kata Beach and did my best to go there, but got sidetracked when I picked up my two Chilean traveling companions. Phi Phi was like a bay, so very shallow and no real ability for waves (except of the tsunami variety) and Lanta had gentle waves but no more than 6 inches or so. I'll keep looking though!
I'll definitely do my best to keep you better updated on what I'm eating. I heard from Santa Clara that I was accepted and now they won't stop stalking me. And my cold is thankfully much better, even though in Ko Lanta it decided to migrate for a day and be a chest cold, fun! And yup, the toast thing is me. It's just PLAIN, WHITE TOAST that I can't eat. And that sounds so stupid to me that I keep eating it and keep getting sick (3x now) so I'm really trying to avoid making that mistake again.
Thank you for this I sincerely appreciated this post, the most interesting yet! These shakes sound delightful, as did the sweet and savory pineapple- yumm! The fish sounds good too, and the twice fried chicken. Thankfully I am eating McDonalds as I read this post or I would have drooled to death. Keep us updated on the food as you go, it helps me categorize your stops.
Heard from any more schools? Have fun, it sounds like you are already, and feel better!'
Also, I take it this "toast" thing is you and not specifically Asian toast?
A free ticket for me?? Ahaha Micah mentioned that you had brought the dismal DC weather with you to LA, but it sounds like you had a fantastic time visiting everyone anyways. I'd love to get out and visit some time in May, you know if that spare ticket is just burning a hole in your pocket or something lol :). My clothes are holding up very well actually, although I wish I had brought more shorts. I had laundry done once in Phi Phi and am planning to hold out until Singapore before I do any more. Also since I've mainly been bumming around the beach all I've really worn is a bikini. Gosh it's a hard life here.
weather I was cruelly misled about the LA weather, and so glad to hear it's warm by you. Also I'm wondering how your clothes are holding up because I packed very light and used all my clothes and was pretty close to burning them all by the end of four days! Other than that, a great trip--loved seeing Mom (Mama) and Micah and Erica and Carla and the Morties and Kent and other friends. Wish we all lived closer. Oh--and I took a bumping opportunity in Philadelphia and have a free ticket!
yessss I love knowing that my travelblog is being read, it definitely makes me want to write more often. And I'm surprised you can't feel the heat from my skin in America (sounds sexy but I'm just that badly burned). If you subscribe to the blog you get an email when I update it.
I am stalking your travel blog yay! I am hoping that by reading this i not only get to keep up with your adventures but also absorb some of that warmth and sunshine through internet osmosis. The beach sound incredible...too bad about the monkeys,i hear they are stealthy beasts.
I'm Jealous Wow Shosh, that sounds amazing! Even the train ride sounds like such a worth while experience; especially seeing the juxtaposed poverty and modern convenience in the slums of bangkok.
Enjoy the beach and your French friends...laissez les bons temps roulez and feel better!
PS- it sounds like this whole "alone" thing hasn't been a problem at all for you, look at all your travelling friends!
good times I'm not putting a whole lot of detail into this post because i made a really nice one the first time and the site didn't end up posting it
:(. Anyway 1. Your trip sounds like crazy fun! 2. Thanks for Slam! If you visit we can watch it together. And 3. we had great weather until Mom showed up and dragged the East Coast doom and gloom with her. Bah.
Hi! Thanks for the update. We knew Korea was cold! Hope everything is still going smoothly. I'm leaving for Calif. tomorrow. A little snow here today, looking fwd to the warm weather in LA.
Love~
I hope all is well I am glad to read you have made it there safely. I know the best is to come, keep us updated as much as possible, be safe and take care.
