Shoshana in Asia's Guestbook

Wow.
What a trip! And a great travelogue, too. Thanks for doing it. It sounds like a week of hard labor and misery, but interesting nonetheless. Glad you made it back to this luxurious land of flush toilets, running water, and plentiful electricity. We're very lucky.

Today I've been appreciating how I can change the temperature in a building. What a weird idea.

Great description....
From your description, it's very easy to imagine much of the community- it's people, the food, and surroundings. As someone who will most likely never take such a trip, but love to hear about these things, I appreciate how you share in such a clear and interesting way. Thank you. Safe travels.

I'm glad you'll be able to come here soon. I find it so interesting to return. I'll be very interested in your trip!

Interesting to know.....
....the general 'feeling' of the students having gone through the Toul Sleng (S-21). Sitting here reading your description....thinking of the suffering that is beyond my comprehension....tears fill my eyes. It is simply so challenging to imagine how a human being comes to believe they have the right to inflict such horrors on other living things. I appreciate your reminder that.....there is so much more in this world, than my warm little family room, fire flickering as I read and type. What a dichotomy of behavior.

Thanks as always for your comments. I'm hoping the students will write about their visit soon. Send me a private message (as opposed to a comment) and I'll give you the address where they're blogging.

AA.....
Being a 30 year member of AA.....very active here in Eugene, I would love to know what a meeting there is like? i.e. STRUCTURE: how it was ran- secretary 'managing' the meeting? a Speaker/Chair Person telling their story? Open sharing? How welcoming were people of those outside their community? I know people who have attended meetings all over Europe and Mexico.....but none in Asia.

Please; I hygienically ate the spider with my right hand.

I hope your intervention with the hotel takes. Otherwise, you all may be better off moving, if you can get healthy enough to do so!

I really am enjoying the vicarious trip. Lovely photographs and descriptions. I hope you're going to be able to get a bit more sleep, though!

Missing SE Asia...
...makes my heart hurt! I love reading this blog. Hope you all are eating plenty of milk fruit, dragonfruit (still your favorite, Shoshana?) and drinking watermelon juice!

Happy to still be on your travel blog....
WOW....sounds like you and some very lucky young people are off on a journey sure to add to their lives in so many ways. I know this because.....you continue to return-teaching, learning and then passing on to others, and now opening that door to others. I'm always excited to see your updates.
