RICK AT 35! Mabuhay ka my friend Rick! You are such a wonderful person! Wishing you the wings to fly freely, the vision to dream wildly, the heart to love deeply and the spirit to embrace all the beauty in life.Great, travel blog update. Thanks!
Amazing Stro,
It's February 12th, I am sitting in a dingey bar in Oakland awaiting my return flight back to burbank on a rainy cloudy day...and I am doing my best to fight back the emotions that I am felling reading your journal. As lame as it may sound, I think you can appreciate the emotions since it wasn't long ago that you saw me for the first time in Vietnam after being away for 28 years. Anyway, a short asian guy teary-eyed in an dingey oakland bar is not a good thing...thanks guy!
It was extremely special to have you there when I experienced Vietnam for the first time since childhood this past November...and I am excited to see that you have made it to this leg of your journey. I could tell even back in Saigon that this adventure had brought out a gentler, more poetic side of the ragin' bald phillipino we once knew...and reading your journal (finally) today on your homecoming...it's clear that this has been a life changing experience.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the time you had in the phillipines...and I hope you have an amazing last leg of travels. Looking forward to your book release...
