Sounds like a great adventure, makes a great read. Hope the \'Pig\' remains as magnetic as ever - to immigration and mosquitos.
We\'re having our own adventure here, which involves lack of sleep, poo, milk and incredible noises - but she is incredibly cute and just over 2 weeks old, we recommend it as your next big adventure!
Love from us all here xxx
Pottering around Africa Cresta greetings to Dr and Mrs Potter from the Oakes family - we really enjoy reading about your adventure! It almost makes enduring the coldest March for over 60 years (and therefore my personal coldest March!) worth while. It sounds as though Jo's wonderful way with people is a major bonus in border crossing negotiations! Good luck as you press on. If you get a chance to drop a quick note to David Payne (DavidGPayne@btinternet.com) supporting Col Kev's SMTC membership application (ref 17) I am sure that it would be much appreciated! Keep the blog going and have a great time. See you next January in St M! Best wishes, Andrew.
Good luck! Lovely to hear of your progress. I hope your guardian angels keep station. It is not long now. Good to see there is some fish in the market after what one reads of the European and Russian fishing fleet depleting the seas off west coast of Africa. Did you hear any kora music?
Despite fracturing 2 ribs, rest of family had excellent weeks ski in Les Arcs. We have had some spectacularly beautiful days in Tavi, clear, clear blue skies and still dry, so excellent walking weather. This morning I am off to support Bruce Kent in Tavistock Town Square in protest against £100 billion to be allocated to Trident replacement. Immoral, strategically useless and a complete waste of money!
Keep well
best wishes
Rupert
delighted to hear your news Lovely feedback from you, Jo. Amazing trip, sorry to miss David's birthdy. but it would be a shame to spoil the rule of a lifetime this year, as we have so many years!. Pics amazing, continue to impress us, but please be safe!! (Tummys, journeys, etc)
We note that you have not yet joined the Camel Corps nor pressed-ganged into the Foreign Legion. A honeymoon, 36years on;---- Us celebrating, by exploring the walls, the Railway Museum and the Treasure House of York. Even the Landlady welcomed us as 'the rose of York' .
On Sunday we joined the congregation of All Saints Church, Barmston, to celebrate the restoration of the roof, following the 3 thefts of lead. You might even see my mugshot in the Brid.papers with the Archdeacon and vicar eventually.! Your father quietly sunk into his front pew, then entertained the elderly organist at tea.
Love from Mum and Dad.
Hi guys, as always love reading your posts. Your photos are fab too! Jo I'm v impressed at finding candles for David's birthday! It all seems so far away from here (sitting at kitchen table giving the girls some hot cross buns for supper!) biggest hugs to you both and I look forward to the next instalment xx
Looks amazing! We are still holidaying in NZ. We left Nelson after one month, such a fabulous place for adventure. Lots of hiking in the outback which I just love.. Alan's knee continues to work well.We are now in the Mt Cook National park ready to explore the Ahuriri Valley which is reputed to be the most scenic accessible part of NZ. This was recommended by a fellow tramper we met up with in The Nelson Lakes. Tomorrow will decide if we agree with her recommendation. Next we go onto Queenstown to do some cycling trails with some old adventurous friends of mine!! If only we were as young as our spirit expects!!
We plan to stay with Annie a couple of nights just before the Easter weekend and then we go up to the Bay of Islands for 12 nights. All very exciting... we have had the most superb holiday with the perfect weather.
Love your blog and we send you both lots of love.
Polly and Alan
Hey, sounds like you are having a fab time! Jo can you email me so I have you email address please! It was always said to me over a glass of wine with no pen and paper and although returning to a similar state is supposed to help in remembering, I have tried many times and its just not working! Thanks xx
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID Happy Birthday David - hope you have had a good day!
The photos look great - glad to hear that you are having a good time.
Love from Alan, Sam, and Joey.
Great phots Fantastic to see the phots. Spot is an odd name for a donkey - isn\'t it more suitable for a dog? Perhaps they do things differently in Morocco.......
Keep them coming OK?
Rob
