There are a number of other visitors staying at “harmony” the international visitor guest house. There is a Japanese researcher Sachiko, a med student from New York, Roy, an ophthalmic surgeon from Boston, Scot Warden, an education specialist from San Francisco Kathryn Hecht, a representative from the Seva foundation called Dr Suzanne Gilbert (who has been coming to Aravind for 27 years!) and a party from Bangladesh led by Mr Sultan a Director of Grameen Bank who are working with Aravind to establish 7 managed hospitals in Bangladesh in the next 5 years! It’s a fascinating mix of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, cultures and languages and makes for some entertaining dinner table discussions.
