mandelas prison Ron, just read your account of the visit and it was really powerful., thank you! I have admired him for a long time, I admire him even more now. It makes the little bumps in my road seem very insignificant!

Rainbow Lorikeets Hi. Loved your photos and descriptions of the Lorikeets. Lulu (ball & chain) & myself, are located in the areas of Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban, South Africa, depending on business, the weather and broadband availability. One of our children goes by the technical description of a Chatering Lory but he is really just a little person with red and green feathers. Highly intelligent, has a vocab of about 150 words and phrases, at 11 months, and is now starting to put together his own sentences from the phrases which he overheard. Incredible memory, better than any human, and there are none of us that can copy his range of sounds. He has great fun, starting with simple sounds which we have to imitate and going progressively more difficult untill he loses us and we cannot compete any more. He also poops, a lot. We had great fun with your comments on the rainbow lorikeets and, allthough we have not had any contact with them, would expect them to be very bright also. It might be interesting to let them have their way, get a bit closer to them as individuals, and control the poop area. Thanks for your interesting articles, keep up the good work and, when you are in South Africa, if ever, let us know and we'll introduce you to some SA hospitality. Regards. Jonn & Lulu.
Hello Ron & Pam,
I enjoyed the story and pictures of the Cape area. Beautiful scenery. I love the terrain. Very appealing.
Watching Indiana play Ohio State. Florida is also playing. Take care of yourselves.
Steven audtioned and got the Bass Guitar gig with the Landers sisters. If you remember the twins were on several Tv shows, etc. One was on Dallas for eight year. The dad is Dave Neidenfur, a former pitcher with the Dodgers. Looks like they will be going to Germany this summer for a week to play several shows, and then they will fly to L.A. and play the Roxy! Steven is definetely moving on with his music. Jenna's team beat the 12-under boys Thursday 4-3. Jenna had 3 goals.

fabulous What a magnificant account of the Cape. I really want to go there. Thank you for the time you give to these wonderful accounts. It is almost like being there. Ron's words touched me to tears.
Love,
D
your trip to the prison What an extraordinary story and facts about Mandella, I can see why anyone would be so touched by visiting it. I don't think I would even want to step into the cell because it would give me an eerie feeling of claustrophobia! I admire your photrography of your travels, I don't know that I could travel that much due to my travel sickness.
We love the hats and Carlea loves all her Australian buddies! she slept with all them the night we received them ( March 9th).
I gave Carlea a lecture on interrupting me on the phone after Ron had called last, Sorry Ron.
Travel On!
Abby
Hello Ron & Pam,
Great pictures, great story. What an interesting couple of weeks. Everything is fine here. Jenna's team beat the 12 under boys tonight 4-3 and Jenna had 3 goals. I told Ron a few times I am not an envious or jealous person, but I have to admit that you two can take me close to those emotions. I am very happy for you that you are enjoying this wonderful experience. Retirement must be Grand! Take Care.
Jim
Thanks for sharing. Alex Robbie of course likes the gorry pictures of the Impala remains..... uggh
I'm so glad you are enjoying yourself. I sure do miss you at those AIP, CPI, EP, blah blah meetings. I'm green with envy. All the best, and please keep the blogs coming. :) Mb
Hi! The kids got your package yesterday and are enjoying their goodies! Thanks so much for thinking of us. The book and your site are a wonderful way to teach them about Australia. Declan now wants to go to Coober Pedy to stay in the underground motel. Maybe someday...
Love to both of you and happy trails!
Hi :) First off...Hi Dorothy! Pam, I love your pics and colorful commentary, as always...Freemantle looks very interesting..and as for the folks in the opal mining town..I think they have been too long in the hot sun! LOL No, really, the pics of the hotel and the house in the "mines" were really cool, although my claustrophobia would defintely be on high alert! How do you like the new camera? I just bought a new one too..only 4x zoom, but then I dont have the exotic pics to take like you! grin Love to both
WOW It is so much fun to follow your travels and learn about new places, things I have never heaard of. It looks like you are still having a great time. Love to you both. Looking forward to Africa.
Dorothy
Hi, Pam,
Our mutual friend, Jody, gave me your site, as we are both travelers, though you are farther from home! Your pictures are gorgeous and I'm going to go back to the beginning to read everything. You've been so many places my down under friends tell me about! Thanks!
Hello Ron & Pam,
Great pictures, great story. Looks and sounds like great experience. Everything here the same. Buzy, etc. School is going well, Jenna and Steven are fine. Take care and continue to enjoy your fabulous journey. I'm looking forward to seeing the Stones at halftime tomorrow. Probably play 3 songs. Wonder what the choices will be.
