Thanks for the thoughts
Fortunately, I had been uploading all my pics every day, so I only lost a day's worth of pictures, but it was a really good day! So sorry you lost so many photos. Personally, I think the Big Goose Pagoda should just be taken off the tourist sights list all together.
24th February 2009

I can relate to your story. Oddly enough I was walking down the same street as you on my way to the Big Goose Pagoda when my camera was stolen from my pocket. I took a pic about 1 minute before and stashed it in my pocket... not thinking. Over 300 pics from all over china were gone. Luckily i was with others who took some of the same pics. All i can say is this guy/group have some bad karma headed their way

So cool!
Natanya, I LOVE this story. It's not only about how cool Austin is, but it's also a grant metaphor for life.

I wasn't carrying a wallet and all my ID and any money with me were strapped to me inside my pants. The camera I had to have access to so I could take pictures. Next time, it hangs around my neck with an alarm.

xian report
At least it wasn't your wallet! So sorry about the camera, but good call on the reaction--I take pictures in my mind all the time, and they seem to be more permanent than the others, the "real" ones. Enjoying the trip with you... love Kathi And Happy New Year!

I thought of you when you I was there. I could hear it in your voice that you wanted to see them. You would have been a good person to go with. I think you would have like Xi'an, too.

Many miles away and adventures
Thank you so much for including me in your blog notes. You are so far from Austin Texas in distance and even further in adventures. I hope you are taking many pictures and keeping a detailed journal. You have so much to share beyond what you post in the blog. I have truly enjoyed each adventure you have shared and especially the ones involving the children. I wish you a healthy, safe and wonderful 2009. Martha

Christmas in China and Florida
Hello there Tani! We have finally finished opening presents...at 8 pm! Well, we didn't start ntil 1 pm because Lori has to spend time with her in-laws on Christmas morning and same with Angie. It worked out brilliantly, and we are now all eating our hors douevers and waiting for the moment when Mom's cake comes out. We have missed you and are looking forward to talking to you when the SKYPE works. Mush love, Kathi

Thank you for the memories.
I enjoyed the videos and photos. I am a middle-aged Korean woman living in Peoria, Illinois. Your videos and photos remind me the olden days and brought in tons of nostalgic memories. I miss home! Thank you!

Your pictures are beautiful as usual...I still remember how beautiful the cherry blossom and bradford pear trees were in DC...and we probably only had a small amount there of the cherry blossom trees compared to Korea where they are probably plentiful....it looks like you are having a wonderful time and experiencing life in Korea to the fullest..good for you. Thanks for sharing. Linda

Cherry blossom trees
Thanks so much for sharing. Everything I learn about Korea is from your blog and it is wonderful The fun part about this entry - besides keeping up with what is making you so happy - is that I never thought of cherry blossoms anywhere but Washington DC. We are not to rainy yet but you know what you are experiencing is very similiar to the Texas heat and humidity. Enjoy the rest of your week. Martha

Korea Blog
The blog entry was wonderful! I am so glad you are so happy and honored you share the events and culture with all of us. I am not a mushroom lover but it does create a fantastic mental picture of their uses. Just a year ago you were somewhat apprehensive and yet jumped right into the unknown appearing fearless. Be proud of yourself you deserve to be. Martha

Wow, a whole year and when I look at your entries into this blog thing; I'm just amazed at how much life and adventure you've been able to cram into a year. You are like I wanted to be...letting no grass grow under my feet but instead I turned into a couch potato!!! At least when you leave there; you'll be able to say that you did have a huge, eventful life while you were there. Keep enjoying yourself and exploring...you may never get back there again no matter what you think now. Seems every time I go places these days; I automatically try to do everything possible while there or with those people because too often; I've thought I'd be able to go back to a certain place or be with those people lots of times in the future and it just hasn't happened...so now I live as much as I can thinking that it may be the last time I get to do or visit or be with certain people....unfortunately, the money I have does not permit me to have as much fun/explore as much as I'd like and the body is old and tired so wears out a lot faster these days too. I have a new knee in one leg but the rest of the body is still achy and aged!!!! Anyway, keep enjoying life every day and keep updating your blog..I love reading it and living some of your life through you comments. Linda
