Songkran is my favorite Thai holiday When my wife and I lived in Chiang Mai in 1974-75 we especially enjoyed the Songkran festival. I hope you were able to go to the Ping River to see the lotus floats that produced a river of fire. Also, papaya is pretty good if you squirt some fresh lime juice on it. Sorry about the mangoes and sticky rice being out of season, although some places do a pretty good job of keeping mangoes refridgerated so that there is still some available well beyond the normal end of the season. Mangoes and sticky rice is my favorite dessert.
Your blog brings back memories I enjoyed your entry as it brought back memories of my time on Doi Inthanon. My first time there was in Dec 1967...it took two days to hike to the top. I was on the survey crew that mapped the top of the mountain. We worked 12 hours per day, seven days per week. My second time there was from Feb 1974 to July 1975, when I was construction supervisor for building the road to the top, and the radar station. My last visit there was in May 2007 with my three children. I wanted to share my expereinces with them. I blogged about that trip. I just subscribed to your blog as I enjoy your writing.
Im jealous Travis and I look at your blog/pictures for every update. We are soooo jealous but so very happy that you guys are having a great- once in a lifetime experience! I cannot WAIT to see you when you get back!
Looks Beautiful Loving the pix! Make sure if Zac gets on an elevator--you don't leave him ON IT!!!! It's really cold here--I'm jealous!!! Sounds like all yous are doing is EATING or looking for food!!! Yup, try out all the cigarettes so you know what to bring me back!!! Make sure you find out how many cartons you can bring! Maybe you can even find a cool cig pk holder!
Got a "Potty Patch" on Daily Deal for only $17 AND free shipping---sure beats the $40 plus Tshipping or a trip to Walgreens!!!!! I can't wait to get it!!! The dogs' water was ice yesterday and assume it will be today too! I found a dead fish in the goldfish tank--it wasn't a goldfish tho--yes, I'm feeding them EVERY DAY!! Don't know what happened? Gave Sweet Pea 2 carrots yesterday--hoping she'll like me more! Took almost 2 hours to get the back tires on the car pumped up--you don't even WANT to know!
Tee Hee Glad y'all made the flight! Don't forget about checking on my implants!!!! Also check on prices etc for removal of triple chins!!!!! Sounds like everything's ultra cheap==always a good thing! Hope you are trying out the cigarettes there so u know which kind(s) to bring home! Lots going wrong here--they can't match the window tint and told me to come pick it up and Zac's rear tire is FLAT! Animals are fine--cept Sweet Pea is afraid of me!! I even tried to pet her and she ran away so I didn't push it as I didn't wanna rabbit=bite!
Love it! Thanks for doing this! I love reading about your adventures! Thanks also for posting about how much everything costs. It really puts everything into perspective. Safe travels! Enjoy!

I love to travel... when I have the time and money! Both are hard to come by and can so easily be wasted. My boyfriend and I try to plan a big trip (international and two weeks or longer) every 2 to 3 years. We have been to Italy, Ireland, and Thailand. I wish we waited to go to Thailand because now I have no desire to go anyplace else but there :)... full info
