Jersey Shore Update Hey - since you guys are away from the goodness of North American media, I thought I would give you a little Jersey Shore fix. I heard on the radio today that a bunch of the cast members are not even Italian. J-Wow is part Irish. And get this - Snooki is Chilean!!! I am sooooo fortunate to be able to hang out with the Situation AND Snooki!!!
Anyway - the pics look fantastic and the trip already sounds great. Glad you guys made it safe and sound and are enjoying yourselves! Make sure to sample lots of great wines and write down the names of the good ones - cuz I will be asking when you get back. Have a fantastic trip. Michelle and I are off tomorrow morning to visit her homeland and to find out if she is a distant relative of Snooki.

Being called Sir I have been living here for 6 months (am Canadian) and I have gotten so used to be called sir or referred to as a he that I don't even notice anymore. The trick is that in Tagalog there are no he/she or sir/ma'am distinctions. They only have one word used to refer to both sexes. So differentiating in speech is not intuitive for Filipinos. It is like an English speaker trying to use the masculine and feminine in French - at home we butcher it all the time accidentally. So I certainly hope you didn't take offense. I am actually a very tall, broad women here - 5'7 with shoulders bigger then almost every Filipino man I know, and I get asked from time to time if I am a man or a women. Being so much bigger then a Filipina some people assume I am a tranvestite... seriously. *laugh* So you definitely didn't get the worst of it.
rum rum ohhh the rum Always thought the rum in Cuba was the best but after I tried the Philippine tanduay dark rhum mmmmmmmmmmm it is the best in da world. Like you said its soooo smoooth.
You guys look tanned and relaxed. I was reading about your travels this morning and am envious since it has turned cold for a few days in Ontario (-20 at night brr).
Enjoy your trip.

Poor Meganita Ack you poor thing, staying close to the hotel all day... and poor gang, all taking turns being sick. I hope you feel better soon.... and stay healthy!!! Too much to see and do!
Merry Christmas Merry Christmas to you too. I know how wierd it is to be away from family at Christmas time.... but damn that's a fine lookin' beach. Love the pic of the four of you in the water... keep on blogging. D:)
long tail driving The guy who we took a long tail trip with for 3 days in a row from Krabi to Railey (and surrounding beaches) drove with his foot on the rudder and nothing else! I now see there are a few variations to this style of driving:)
Krabi? Love the picture of you and Ryan at the Amsterdam bar. Such a good looking couple. I love it when people travel with style. Good for you two. Can wait to read the next chapter (Krabi, that's a place for me...).
El Cucaracha I love how you named your room:) Always remember to zip up your bags when you're not taking stuff in or out of them...you might end up with stow aways. and yes, I'm speaking from a SE Asia experience.

Did you manage to go to an orphanage? I know that's something you both wanted to do.
