Crew & Culling Wishing you a safe trek up. By now you have realized that loch and bodilly are trouble, though well intended. I have to wonder if there 15 kilos contain any adult beverages? The pictures are awesome and educational .....cremation ritual. Thank you for sharing with us!
Happy hearing from you! We are happy to hear everything is going okay! Sounds like things are a bit different over there huh? Everything at home is good. I've managed to get to school on time everyday so far and have been keeping both grandpa and Jack in line. In sports news, the Badgers won against Illinois and the Packers won against Miami on a last second touchdown (very exciting game). Keep sending updates, we miss you all and love you. Be safe!!!
Lesson in Geography Even though your journey has just begun, this Longhorn mom has already had a lesson in geography and noted that TX. A&M has a branch in Qatar!
Great Idea Thanks for taking the time and having the skills to get this off the ground for those of us who are still holding down the fort at home. If Jim needs some editing for his writing, let me know :-). I look forward to the entries.
happy trails! This is Tim Nikolai's sister, Melissa. I am glad you are blogging as I did not have the chance to text/email/call to say have an amazing trip. This sounds like an experience of a life time and I am super excited for you all. Stay safe and I will be interested in more blogs when you can make it work. Melissa
Father of Kira Femrite I believe Doha is the capitol of Qutar and lies on the eastern coast of the country on the Persian Gulf. I look forward to reading your comments of the journey. Our very best to everyone for a successful trip.
Safe Travels All! Can't wait to hear all about your trip on this blog. I know there will be many stories to tell! We will toast to you often as we relax in sunny Savannah/Charleston. Have fun!
Have a wonderful adventure Hope the wi-fi works so we can follow you on this journey. And enjoy the "spa" that Scott told me was on top of the mountain, (he wouldn't lie about something like that would he?) We'll be thinking of you while sipping wine in Savannah and Charleston.
Travel safe - enjoy the moments Jeff and crew . . . . travel safe and enjoy every moment. I thought about starting with a question for Jeff..."Are you nuts?" but I know better and, quite honestly, I already know the answer to the question. Be safe.
Qatar As a recovering transaction lawyer who has made a career paying attention to details, you might wonder why Qatar is spelled Qutar in the first entry? It could be a typo? But u and a are nowhere near each other on the keyboard. In could be a comprehensive understanding of the rules of the English language forgetting that Qatar is in the Middle East? In any case, we all appreciate Jeff's effort to set up this blog and make frequent entries as we embark on the journey of a lifetime. (note: there is good natured inside baseball behind this entry and not deemed to be critical. This will be the last time I point out something so trivial.)
Ok ... Let's Just Get It Out There ... For those of you who do not know ... after reading this blog for a couple of weeks you will certainly come to know ... I am the world's worst speller. I assure you that the misspelling of the great nation of Qatar will not be the last spelling mistake in this blog. The spelling mistakes will be mine and mine alone ... and the truly horrifying part is I often cannot get "close enough" for the spell check to decipher the word I am trying to create. We all have talents and challenges, and spelling is an area in which I do not excel.
